Charles,

Thanks for sending this to me.

[For those receiving for the first time this brief report on Psalms 118
being the middle chapter of the Bible, you might want to scroll down and
read it.]

I had quite an amazing synchronicity experience in conjunction with this.

The first thing that came to mind when I read it was that back in April 6,
1993, the Lord led me to discover a chiasm spanning the chapter of Psalms
118.
www.greaterthings.com/Parallels/Bible/Ps118-CHI.htm

That was six months following an incident in which I attempted to reach the
podium of the LDS tabernacle to give a talk during General Conference and
was escorted from the building by security guards. The talk I had prepared
discussed how the saints are to be a light to the world both in regards to
the gospel as well as the proper role of government and freedom.

Psalm 118 uses the word "tabernacle" and pairs it with the phrase, "open to
me the gates of righteousness: I will go into them" (v.19) That is actually
the middle verse, number wise, of the 29-verse Psalms 118.

Well, as you can imagine, making this attempt did not endear me to the
Church. It was what spurred, as a final straw, my excommunication.

Then today, after getting this post from you, out of curiosity, I opened
Zodhiates' Complete Word Study to the New Testament and turned to page 598.
(For some reason {synchronicity?} that was the number I looked up, confusing
it with 594.) On that page is Greek word definition 1808 exairo: "To take
up out of any place, to lift up from, remove; to expel or excommunicate." I
would say that fits pretty well!

Also, notice how the digits 1808 are a variation of 118:8 mentioned in the
post you sent me.

The word before 1808, also on the same page, means "to take or pluck out,"
which is the same verbiage as JST-Mark 9:46.

"And if thine eye which seeth for thee, him that is appointed to watch over
thee to show thee light, become a transgressor and offend thee, pluck him
out." (see also D&C 64:40 and 114:2, which are related).

The word after 1808 means "To claim back for oneself."

Interesting stuff.

Sterling
