March 16, 2003As I reflect on Mitchell's religious and political paradigm and compare it
to my own, the resemblances are close enough to cause me to shudder. This
has me in deep introspection.
Yes, past exposures to and participation in fanaticism cause one to think. Obviously such phenomena are not limited to LDS. Osama Bin Ladin is one, of the Muslim faith, also very much tracing his spiritual roots to Abraham. (In a copy of the Q'uran which I have, it says that the 'son' that Abraham nearly sacrificed may have been Ishmael....although KJV and even the ancient Peshitta text of the Aramaic Bible, by Lamsa, says it was Isaac.)
In the late 60's I joined the Worldwide Church of God, headed by Herbert W. Armstrong-who claimed to be God's only living Apostle. Then we left the WCG to link up with Larry Gilbert Johnson, who claimed to be the leader of the Laodicean Church ("Yahweh's true church at the end times") as well as being one of the Two Witnesses of Rev. 11 (Garner Ted Armstrong being the other one). Larry Johnson also believed in and practiced polygamy and I was able to observe such a family situation on a few occasions when we visited them for Holy Day celebrations. We left that group around 1980.
"I tended to believe the Ed Dames prediction " I didn't know Ed had made that prediction.....anyone know what his record is re: remote viewing predictions???
Diamonds Plus One" from Dr. C. Samuel West. Referencing seven referred
...His book is about the science of lymphology that draws attention to the role
of the Lymphatic system in the body for draining out poisons and keeping the
body healthy. We knew about Dr. West's lymphology teachings, we've had a 'body bouncer' in the house for about 23 years......but I had no knowledge of his spiritual leanings.
. Dr. West has a bit of the OMS syndrome himself. What is OMS ?
It is one of the greatest obstacles to his being able to legitimately
propagate the good understanding he has been given. His fanaticism is a
turn-off (takes one to know one?). The following isn't necessarily verbatim, but still true: St. Germain once said, "If you don't get rid of fanaticism, you'll become like a Lyndon LaRouche, and people won't listen to you, or to me." [I understand this to mean that the perception of fanaticism with LaRouche has to a degree rendered his ideas not to be listened to. After studying LaRouche for about 19 years, I agree; albeit no one I know has presented solutions to the world's problems as has LaRouche..]On the religious fringe, the leap from fanaticism to out of control behavior
in the name of God is not that large. Yep....Once a person severs the apron strings to the LDS church, there is indeed a
spiritual safety factor that is severed as well. Can you accept the possibility that there are spiritual safety factors outside of LDS?.....such as, "If you ask your Father for a fish, he won't give you a serpent"....Although raised as a Lutheran, I don't practice it....but Martin Luther was correct in observing that we don't need a physical intercessor to contact 'God'.....How about asking Archangel Michael to protect you from falsehoods?......
The person become prone to all kinds of strange paths....Again, the phenomena is not limited to LDS. You certainly understand that many people consider LDS itself to be a strange path.....Would I therefore advocate censorship of all departure from the LDS
mainstream? Absolutely not. Such freedom can be as helpful as dropping the
training wheels from a bicycle.It seems to me that the solution to this wild-eyed fanaticism is not more
censorship but less. From what I've witnessed, it is the paranoia that
comes from being persecuted for being so different that often drives these
people to extremes of behavior. IMO, the last chapter of Daniel contains a prophecy about the Internet: "...seal this book until the time of the end; many shall want to know the end, AND KNOWLEDGE SHALL BE INCREASED."......also, with individuality some degree of persecution does follow.....Been there, done that.
Gratefully, I did not go as extreme as Mitchell, but I must admit that not
many years ago I was close to his degree of extreme, as were/are many of my
associates. That does not set well with me and stirs me to pause for
reflection.
Such is our religious legacy. Such is the fodder of modern extremism.
Instead, God promised him an eternal inheritance of a promised land that
would be filled with the blood of his warring sons.

Who are you Yatzi?
According to this latest pseudo Davidic servant, (towhich pseudo Davidic servant do you refer??? the seven diamonds are:
1)the Bible, King James version; [if you choose to believe that KJV is a divinely inspired translation, you are welcome to do so.....please just recognise that that belief is a belief, not a fact.]
2)the Book of Mormon;
3)"the inspired words of the prophets" of the LDS Church;
4)The Golden Seven Plus One by C. Samuel West;
5)Embraced by the Light by Betty J. Eadie;
6)The Literary Message of Isaiah by Avraham Gileadi;
7)and The Final Quest by Rick Joyner.I've never heard of "the Golden Seven" by West, or the Final Quest by
Joyner. Perhaps someone on the list could supply more information
concerning these books.
I'm sorry to see that he has included Gileadi's magnum opus. It
truely is one of the great literary works of our day, and Avraham
doesn't need any more negative press. I find it curious that Mr.
Mitchell would include the work of fiction by Bette Eadie (who in
reality didn't actually wrote the book)??? I suppose it is a
testament to his false claim of deity...(in what sense does h/she claim deity?....Jesus did quote Moses saying all of you are sons of the Most High (El Elyon.....which some scholars say is the highest name for diety. What do Sons of God grow up to to become....if not a form of diety...?)
Thanks for the link to the manifesto Sterling. An interesting read. Ditto my virtual friends.... Dave GaefkeSo many Davidic servants... so little time.
Have a restful shabbat
