Daniel Brown married Grace Thompson on 26 Jun 1750 in Salem county New Jersey. He moved his family to North Carolina before 1760. Daniel was the son of Henry Brown who died in 1757 in Augusta county, Virginia. Henry appears to have been married twice, the first wife unknown, and the 2nd wife named Esther. From the first wife, there are 4 sons: Henry Jr., Samuel, Daniel & David. From Esther, there are Thomas, Robert & Esther. The Browns moved to VA from NJ, Daniel having gone back from to NJ to marry Grace. Henry Jr. moved to Bedford county Virginia. There is also a Daniel Brown who left a will in Bedford in 1797. Many have thought that he was the son of Henry of Augusta county, but the connections point more to Daniel who moved to NC. This Daniel may be a cousin of some time. It is hoped through this group, all members of Bedford and Augusta county VA Brown families may be organized into the proper families.
