CCome join us this Friday, July 17th for our TGIF $10 sassy cha cha class/light dinner/open dance party from 8-11pm. We have some great new patterns that we will review and build a progressive routine for all ages and levels. Cha cha continues to be a favorite latin dance for the classic latin upbeat music, hip hop, and top 40! No partner, no problem as we rotate all dancers of varied experience levels to learn faster and meet everyone! Come see where all of Metro Detroit’s finest dancers come every Friday night for great instruction, music and the friendliest dance partners! We have 100+ dancers every week!! Location: Location: Dance Elite, located at 6315 Haggerty, just north of Maple, next to the Library Pub, across from Meijers in West Bloomfield. Mark your calendars for our annual Summer Ice Cream Social on Friday, July 24th! We will have our regular Friday night group class and party with ice cream sodas, sundaes and summer music fun!!! Wear your summer shorts, tie dye t-shirts, skirts, bikinis (and cover-ups) if you dare!!!! $10 per person at Dance Elite.
· Saturday Morning Latin Technique Class with Glenn Clark, July 18 starts a new samba series in addition to our rumba/cha cha technical warm-up. We focus on balance, foot strength, leg lines, arm styling with our cha cha and rumba (American/Latin) patterns. If you want to build your technical knowledge in addition to group pattern classes, come join us at 11am-12pm at Dance Elite. We have a great group every Saturday morning and will get you going quickly!
· Glenn Clark’s Monday Morning Matinee, July 20: 10am-12pm-New series of Texas Two-Step with group class from 10-11am and then practice for $10 per person at Dance Elite. We welcome all new students and will help you learn quickly and feel comfortable! Two step is always a blast to dance! Time: 10am for class and practice until 12pm. We have more than 30 in this group, so plenty of great dancers to learn with. Singles and beginners welcome! Location: Dance Elite.
· Thursday Evening Beginner's Basics Class, July 16th : 8-9pm-Beginning dances including tango, salsa, swing, cha cha, foxtrot and rumba and more. Each week the group picks their preferred dances. These dances at the most used at social functions and are the foundation dances for other ballroom/latin dances and are perfect for wedding couples, special events, and summer parties! The studio is reserved only for this beginning class, so no distractions from other teachers or students while you learn. Location: Loretta's Pointe in Keego Harbor (3195 Orchard Lake). Cost: $20 per person for the small class with individual attention. No partner/no problem-singles welcome! If you find large group classes and advanced dancers frustrating, this is the class for you and/or your significant other!
· Congratulations to all of the competitors at the Michigan Dancesport Olympics this past Thursday evening, July 9th! We had 600 attendees with an excellent dinner, 50 competitors with an emphasis on amateur couples and novice/intermediate levels plus lots of social dancing with many dance friends!! Glenn was honored again serve as the Chairman of Judges!
· Mark your calendars for a special Saturday night class/party on July 25th at the new Dance Pavilion in Ypsilanti. The cost will be $10 per person from 8-11pm. Glenn will teach some new cha cha patterns at 8pm (different from Friday nights) with open dancing from 9-11pm with his great mix of dance music. We hope to see all of our dance friends to try out this new dance studio with us. Address: 1918 Whittaker Rd, Ypsilanti, MI 48197 (Paint Creek Shopping Mall). We will also hold our regular Friday night dance party on July 24th at Dance Elite. A full weekend of dance fun!
