I'm going to drive down early Saturday morning from
Sacramento / Folsom. So if you want to carpool or caravan,
send me an email. I have an Explorer, so there is room for
a couple people and their gear. I'll be returning Sunday
evening, so the same offer goes out for the trip back.

Sac City College is closed this week for spring break. No juggling
at Sac City.

Instead, let's juggle at the 28th and B Skate Park in Sacramento.

Friday Juggling
6 April 2007
6-9pm
28th and B Skate Park, Sacramento
$3
http://www.cityofsacramento.org/parksandrecreation/recreation/skateboa
rd.htm
Take 28th St to B St and then keep going, past the railroad tracks,
up to Sutter Landing Park, past the gravel parking lot, veer right
around the deadend/buildings and follow the road to the skate park.

I stopped by today and the employee said we should be okay juggling
especially on the bumpy cement area where no one skates. It's a big
warehouse with one side open to the outdoors and has indoor lighting.
Cost is $3. If you want to skate (Caught Clean style or otherwise),
make sure you bring helmet, knee and elbow pads with your skateboard.

See you Friday!

Sacramento's Earth Day Celebration
Sunday April 22
CSUS Sac State
11a-5pm

Someone from CSUS contacted me about Damento participating in their
Earth Day celebration. Looks like if we volunteer to teach juggling
in the Planet Art area with the Sierra Club or ECOS groups we won't
need to have liability insurance and fill out any forms. (We also
won't have our own table and name in the program either, but that's
okay.)

Is anyone else interested in doing this? And if so, what hours would
you be willing to volunteer? We wouldn't need to be there the entire
time.

Let me know ~ it could be fun especially for any Sac State students
who'd like to get more people to juggle there.

I'm interested. I'll volunteer. And I'll see if I can get
any CSUS students / alum / neighbors / friends / co-workers
that I know to come out too.

Put me down for 11am - 1pm. But I may stay for the entire time.

I wanted a simple Damento shirt so made one on CafePress. If all goes
well with shipping, maybe I'll have it next week if you want to see
it. If you want to order one or if you have a better idea for a
Damento t-shirt, let me know (maybe Unfest 2006 too?). We may be able
to use Cafe Press as a fundraiser if we had some cool designs.

Should be back to Sac City College this Friday night. The skate park
was fun last week - we even had some young skaters who already knew how
to juggle and taught a couple more kids to juggle too. Anyway, come
out to juggle this Friday and finish up your taxes on the weekend.

Okay, I have us down for 11a-3p for Earth Day at Sacramento State.
It would be nice to have more than one person during the times. So
far:

11a-1p Charlie
1p-3p Zack and family

Chris, can you bring balls to the event or Friday juggling?
Ted, once you get to Sacramento, you can take J St all the way down
to CSUS, but it might be easier to carpool with me.

Sacramento's Earth Day Celebration
Sunday April 22
CSUS Sac State
Planet Art with Sierra Club
11a-5pm (Damento 11a-3p)

Here's the latest email from the organizer:

" That's exciting news. 11-3 works well. When you arrive at CSUS,
if
parking is as it has been in the past, it will be free parking in all
the campus lots. There will be an exhibitor check-in at the front of
the event (bus stop area). You don't need to check-in as you are not
registered as an exhibitor. You will be in Planet Art with Sierra
Club. Planet Art is the hands-on activities located past the main
stage and between the wildlife and food areas.
Do you want a table? Do you have a sign?
I hope to be there but I may also be checking on things. . .
      Thanks to all,

Kathy Ries "

Whole Earth Festival
May 11-13, 2007
Friday: 12:00pm - 10:00pm
Saturday: 9:00am - 10:00pm
Sunday: 9:00am - 6:00pm
UCDavis, Davis
http://wef.ucdavis.edu/

Not this weekend, but next weekend, get ready for hippy goodness and
juggling. Bring your mom or buy her a mother's day gift from one of
the craft vendors, listen to music, eat veggie food, check out
alternative energy, wear tie dye, blah, blah, blah, and juggle.

Jugglers usually congregate on the southwest corner of the quad across
from what is labelled the "Dynamic Education Station" on this map:
http://wef.ucdavis.edu/content/view/27/55/

Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, water, and carry or keep an eye on
your props. Sometimes jugglers from Berkeley or the surrounding
foothills area come out. Look for some previous Damentos - Katje will
be at one of the hairbraiding booths.

Put this on your calendar and I'll post again when I plan to be there
later next week (most likely Saturday). Maybe Matt or Ted will post
when and where they are performing.

Around 11 Humbolt jugglers (Humboldt Circus and Circus Pandemonium) are
at Whole Earth Festival this weekend as well as some other jugglers
like Kevin from Sonoma. There's a fire show tonight. Humboldt people
said they would be there Sunday too.

I think Ted and Matt are doing some sort of show Sunday at 4pm.

I missed several Davis unicyclists streaking around WEF in their
underwear today.

Computer Recycling Center http://www.crc.org/ is having a dropoff event:
"Special Drop-off Events MAY 12/13 U.C. Davis 9am-5PM Whole Earth
Festival! NO LIMIT for Monitors, Computers, Laptops, computer parts
Limit 5 TV's, Limit 2 Printers, Weight limit any item - 70 lbs."

I definitely have a bunch of old computer stuff that could be dropped
off (unfortunately they don't take possessed, or any, microwaves). So,
I'll probably go back tomorrow afternoon if anyone wants to carpool
from Sacramento. Contact me if you want to carpool.

hello hello DAmento land

For the remainder of this quarter some Tuesday night Davis regulars have
time conflicts earlier in the evenning and have generally agreed to meet
at 7:30 pm.

The sun sets alittle after 8 making juggling outside kind of not fun...
this isnt quite enough juggle to sustain us for a whole week :(

Because of this we meet inside and juggle until about 9 pm. Sometime
mid-june the quarter will end and we'll have lazy, outdoor, summer
juggling that we all love.

SCHEDULE
this TUESDAY may 22, 7:30pm, ARC raquetball courts, usually one in the back
this is not ideal for non-students as the UC Davis ARC (rec place) is
not free to get in.. i think its like $6... sorry, its only while we
play alittle room shuffle

next TUESDAY may 29, 7:30pm, Social Science 1100
this room is fun and free for all.

next next TUESDAY .... ?

happy juggle

Is Social Science 1100 the one in the Death Star?

I can't come this tuesday, because the stupid ARC won't even let in
non-students if you're not 18...maybe I'll try anyways though...

But I shall juggle after this week!

Yea it is the death star. I was thinking if we could get people into the
pavilian there are raquet ball courts in there we could use. Does anyone
know if you need to show your ID to the people there? If we do get in and
the courts are all filled up (which they normally arnt) there is a werid
little one that i think is made for kids. the door to get into it is
really small, and the court itself is smaller than a RB court so no one
uses it. I have gone in there and practiced while all the other courts,
the courts at the ARC and the remander RB courts in the pavilian,
were taken. what do you guys think?

Hey Damento. I was wondering where you think people interested in
juggling would tend to hang out around a university. Someone who knows a
lot of jugglers personailities would be cool or maybe someone who can
analize people by their habits or something, i think that jugglers tend
to have addictive personailities for learning or something like that. The
reason being I want to know where I should advertise for my juggling
class (for UC Daivs) for when i teach it next fall. I didn't advertise it
at all and I think i want to start making some cool adds for it. Any help
would be great, thanks!

Hello there sir.
I believe there is a large population of students interested in learning
juggling becasuse they are going to be physical educators of one kind or another
and knowing how to teach others and to teach children especially is kool and
imoprtant to them. I had a kineseology class and they found out I was a juggler
and everyone wanted to learn so they could teach their future students. This
population of future jugglers doesn't fit any other niche of the juggling world
and could only be called-- "educators", in my opinion. Put some flyers up where
the P.E. majors and the kineseology majors hang out. Also don't forget the drama
department. I had a drama prof. ask me to teach to one of her 'styles' classes
and there were a ton of interested people in there.
