  Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment
  ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.

Chapter 2

  why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, Touch
  not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;)

  a shew of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the
  body: not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.


Chapter 3

  If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above,
  where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God.  Set your affection on
  things above, not on things on the earth.  For ye are dead, and your
  life is hid with Christ in God.

Chapter 9

  And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny
  himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me.  For whosoever

Chapter 3

  And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the
  Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.  Wives,

  obey your parents in all things: for this is well pleasing unto the Lord.

  Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing
  that ye also have a Master in heaven.

  sent unto you for the same purpose, that he might know your estate,

Chapter 9

  And John answered and said, Master, we saw one casting out devils
  in thy name; and we forbad him, because he followeth not with us.
  And Jesus said unto him, Forbid him not: for he that is not against

  should be received up, he stedfastly set his face to go to Jerusalem,
  And sent messengers before his face: and they went, and entered into
  a village of the Samaritans, to make ready for him.  And they did not
  receive him, because his face was as though he would go to Jerusalem.
  And when his disciples James and John saw this, they said, Lord, wilt
  thou that we command fire to come down from heaven, and consume them,
  even as Elias did?  But he turned, and rebuked them, and said, Ye know
  not what manner of spirit ye are of.  For the Son of man is not come to
  destroy men's lives, but to save them. And they went to another village.

  epistle is read among you, cause that it be read also in the church of
  the Laodiceans; and that ye likewise read the epistle from Laodicea.
  And say to Archippus, Take heed to the ministry which thou hast received

  such things as are set before you: And heal the sick that are therein,
  and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.  But into
  whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you not, go your ways out
  into the streets of the same, and say, Even the very dust of your city,
  which cleaveth on us, we do wipe off against you: notwithstanding
  be ye sure of this, that the kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
  But I say unto you, that it shall be more tolerable in that day for
  Sodom, than for that city.  Woe unto thee, Chorazin! woe unto thee,
  Bethsaida! for if the mighty works had been done in Tyre and Sidon,
  which have been done in you, they had a great while ago repented,
  sitting in sackcloth and ashes.  But it shall be more tolerable for
  Tyre and Sidon at the judgment, than for you.  And thou, Capernaum,
  which art exalted to heaven, shalt be thrust down to hell.

  For we know that if our earthly house of this tabernacle were dissolved,
  we have a building of God, an house not made with hands, eternal in
  the heavens.  For in this we groan, earnestly desiring to be clothed
  upon with our house which is from heaven: If so be that being clothed we
  shall not be found naked.  For we that are in this tabernacle do groan,
  being burdened: not for that we would be unclothed, but clothed upon,
  that mortality might be swallowed up of life.  Now he that hath wrought
  us for the selfsame thing is God, who also hath given unto us the earnest
  of the Spirit.  Therefore we are always confident, knowing that, whilst
  we are at home in the body, we are absent from the Lord: For we walk by
  faith, not by sight:) We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be
  absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord.  Wherefore we
  labour, that, whether present or absent, we may be accepted of him.
  For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every
  one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath
  done, whether it be good or bad.

Chapter 7

  Now when he had ended all his sayings in the audience of the people,
  he entered into Capernaum.  And a certain centurion's servant, who
  was dear unto him, was sick, and ready to die.  And when he heard of

  he would come and heal his servant.  And when they came to Jesus, they
  besought him instantly, saying, That he was worthy for whom he should
  do this: For he loveth our nation, and he hath built us a synagogue.
  Then Jesus went with them. And when he was now not far from the house,
  the centurion sent friends to him, saying unto him, Lord, trouble not
  thyself: for I am not worthy that thou shouldest enter under my roof:
  Wherefore neither thought I myself worthy to come unto thee: but say in
  a word, and my servant shall be healed.  For I also am a man set under
  authority, having under me soldiers, and I say unto one, Go, and he
  goeth; and to another, Come, and he cometh; and to my servant, Do this,
  and he doeth it.  When Jesus heard these things, he marvelled at him,
  and turned him about, and said unto the people that followed him,
  I say unto you, I have not found so great faith, no, not in Israel.
  And they that were sent, returning to the house, found the servant
  whole that had been sick.

  Ye see how large a letter I have written unto you with mine own hand.
  As many as desire to make a fair shew in the flesh, they constrain
  you to be circumcised; only lest they should suffer persecution for

  keep the law; but desire to have you circumcised, that they may glory
  in your flesh.  But God forbid that I should glory, save in the cross of

  And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so
  that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they
  pass to us, that would come from thence.  Then he said, I pray thee
  therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
  For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also
  come into this place of torment.  Abraham saith unto him, They have
  Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.  And he said, Nay, father
  Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
  And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither
  will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead.

  and overcome him, he taketh from him all his armour wherein he trusted,

  and went and told it in the city and in the country.  Then they went
  out to see what was done; and came to Jesus, and found the man, out of
  whom the devils were departed, sitting at the feet of Jesus, clothed,
  and in his right mind: and they were afraid.  They also which saw it
  told them by what means he that was possessed of the devils was healed.
  Then the whole multitude of the country of the Gadarenes round about
  besought him to depart from them; for they were taken with great fear:
  and he went up into the ship, and returned back again.  Now the man out
  of whom the devils were departed besought him that he might be with him:
  but Jesus sent him away, saying, Return to thine own house, and shew how
  great things God hath done unto thee. And he went his way, and published
  throughout the whole city how great things Jesus had done unto him.

  bushel, but on a candlestick, that they which come in may see the light.

  began to urge him vehemently, and to provoke him to speak of many things:
  Laying wait for him, and seeking to catch something out of his mouth,
  that they might accuse him.


Chapter 12

  In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable
  multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began
  to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the
  Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.

  and unto magistrates, and powers, take ye no thought how or what thing
  ye shall answer, or what ye shall say: For the Holy Ghost shall teach
  you in the same hour what ye ought to say.

  And he said unto her, Daughter, be of good comfort: thy faith hath
  made thee whole; go in peace.  While he yet spake, there cometh one
  from the ruler of the synagogue's house, saying to him, Thy daughter
  is dead; trouble not the Master.  But when Jesus heard it, he answered
  him, saying, Fear not: believe only, and she shall be made whole.
  And when he came into the house, he suffered no man to go in, save
  Peter, and James, and John, and the father and the mother of the maiden.
  And all wept, and bewailed her: but he said, Weep not; she is not dead,
  but sleepeth.  And they laughed him to scorn, knowing that she was dead.
  And he put them all out, and took her by the hand, and called, saying,
  Maid, arise.  And her spirit came again, and she arose straightway:
  and he commanded to give her meat.  And her parents were astonished:
  but he charged them that they should tell no man what was done.

  of unrighteousness in them that perish; because they received not the
  love of the truth, that they might be saved.  And for this cause God
  shall send them strong delusion, that they should believe a lie: That
  they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure
  in unrighteousness.

  against her mother in law.  And he said also to the people, When ye see
  a cloud rise out of the west, straightway ye say, There cometh a shower;
  and so it is.  And when ye see the south wind blow, ye say, There will
  be heat; and it cometh to pass.  Ye hypocrites, ye can discern the
  face of the sky and of the earth; but how is it that ye do not discern
  this time?  Yea, and why even of yourselves judge ye not what is right?
  When thou goest with thine adversary to the magistrate, as thou art in
  the way, give diligence that thou mayest be delivered from him; lest
  he hale thee to the judge, and the judge deliver thee to the officer,
  and the officer cast thee into prison.  I tell thee, thou shalt not
  depart thence, till thou hast paid the very last mite.

Chapter 2

  But we are bound to give thanks alway to God for you, brethren beloved
  of the Lord, because God hath from the beginning chosen you to salvation
  through sanctification of the Spirit and belief of the truth: Whereunto
  he called you by our gospel, to the obtaining of the glory of our Lord
  Jesus Christ.  Therefore, brethren, stand fast, and hold the traditions
  which ye have been taught, whether by word, or our epistle.  Now our Lord
  Jesus Christ himself, and God, even our Father, which hath loved us,
  and hath given us everlasting consolation and good hope through grace,
  Comfort your hearts, and stablish you in every good word and work.


Chapter 3

  Finally, brethren, pray for us, that the word of the Lord may have free
  course, and be glorified, even as it is with you: And that we may be
  delivered from unreasonable and wicked men: for all men have not faith.
  But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.
  And we have confidence in the Lord touching you, that ye both do and
  will do the things which we command you.  And the Lord direct your
  hearts into the love of God, and into the patient waiting for Christ.

Chapter 13

  There were present at that season some that told him of the Galilaeans,
  whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices.  And Jesus
  answering said unto them, Suppose ye that these Galilaeans were
  sinners above all the Galilaeans, because they suffered such things?
  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
  Or those eighteen, upon whom the tower in Siloam fell, and slew them,
  think ye that they were sinners above all men that dwelt in Jerusalem?
  I tell you, Nay: but, except ye repent, ye shall all likewise perish.
  He spake also this parable; A certain man had a fig tree planted in
  his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and found none.
  Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years
  I come seeking fruit on this fig tree, and find none: cut it down; why
  cumbereth it the ground?  And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it
  alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it: And if
  it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou shalt cut it down.

Chapter 3

  Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ,
  that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly,
  and not after the tradition which he received of us.  For yourselves
  know how ye ought to follow us: for we behaved not ourselves disorderly
  among you; Neither did we eat any man's bread for nought; but wrought
  with labour and travail night and day, that we might not be chargeable
  to any of you: Not because we have not power, but to make ourselves an
  ensample unto you to follow us.  For even when we were with you, this
  we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.
  For we hear that there are some which walk among you disorderly, working
  not at all, but are busybodies.  Now them that are such we command
  and exhort by our Lord Jesus Christ, that with quietness they work,
  and eat their own bread.  But ye, brethren, be not weary in well doing.
  And if any man obey not our word by this epistle, note that man, and
  have no company with him, that he may be ashamed.  Yet count him not
  as an enemy, but admonish him as a brother.  Now the Lord of peace
  himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.

Chapter 13

  The same day there came certain of the Pharisees, saying unto him,
  Get thee out, and depart hence: for Herod will kill thee.  And he said
  unto them, Go ye, and tell that fox, Behold, I cast out devils, and I
  do cures to day and to morrow, and the third day I shall be perfected.
  Nevertheless I must walk to day, and to morrow, and the day following:
  for it cannot be that a prophet perish out of Jerusalem.  O Jerusalem,
  Jerusalem, which killest the prophets, and stonest them that are sent
  unto thee; how often would I have gathered thy children together, as a
  hen doth gather her brood under her wings, and ye would not!  Behold,
  your house is left unto you desolate: and verily I say unto you, Ye
  shall not see me, until the time come when ye shall say, Blessed is he
  that cometh in the name of the Lord.

Chapter 1

  Grace be to you and peace from God the Father, and from our Lord Jesus
  Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this
  present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father: To whom
  be glory for ever and ever. Amen.  I marvel that ye are so soon removed
  from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:
  Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would
  pervert the gospel of Christ.  But though we, or an angel from heaven,
  preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto
  you, let him be accursed.  As we said before, so say I now again, if any
  man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him
  be accursed.  For do I now persuade men, or God? or do I seek to please
  men? for if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

Chapter 9

  And it came to pass, that on the next day, when they were come down
  from the hill, much people met him.  And, behold, a man of the company
  cried out, saying, Master, I beseech thee, look upon my son: for he is
  mine only child.  And, lo, a spirit taketh him, and he suddenly crieth
  out; and it teareth him that he foameth again, and bruising him hardly
  departeth from him.  And I besought thy disciples to cast him out; and
  they could not.  And Jesus answering said, O faithless and perverse
  generation, how long shall I be with you, and suffer you? Bring thy
  son hither.  And as he was yet a coming, the devil threw him down, and
  tare him. And Jesus rebuked the unclean spirit, and healed the child,
  and delivered him again to his father.  And they were all amazed at the
  mighty power of God. But while they wondered every one at all things
  which Jesus did, he said unto his disciples,

Chapter 4

  I therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you that ye walk worthy of
  the vocation wherewith ye are called, With all lowliness and meekness,
  with longsuffering, forbearing one another in love; Endeavouring to
  keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.  There is one body,
  and one Spirit, even as ye are called in one hope of your calling;
  One Lord, one faith, one baptism, One God and Father of all, who is
  above all, and through all, and in you all.

Chapter 10

  And, behold, a certain lawyer stood up, and tempted him, saying,
  Master, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?  He said unto him,

  man went down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among thieves, which
  stripped him of his raiment, and wounded him, and departed, leaving him
  half dead.  And by chance there came down a certain priest that way: and
  when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.  And likewise a Levite,
  when he was at the place, came and looked on him, and passed by on the
  other side.  But a certain Samaritan, as he journeyed, came where he
  was: and when he saw him, he had compassion on him, And went to him,
  and bound up his wounds, pouring in oil and wine, and set him on his
  own beast, and brought him to an inn, and took care of him.  And on the
  morrow when he departed, he took out two pence, and gave them to the
  host, and said unto him, Take care of him; and whatsoever thou spendest
  more, when I come again, I will repay thee.  Which now of these three,
  thinkest thou, was neighbour unto him that fell among the thieves?
  And he said, He that shewed mercy on him. Then said Jesus unto him,
  Go, and do thou likewise.

  Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the commandment of God our Saviour,
  and Lord Jesus Christ, which is our hope; Unto Timothy, my own son
  in the faith: Grace, mercy, and peace, from God our Father and Jesus
  Christ our Lord.  As I besought thee to abide still at Ephesus, when
  I went into Macedonia, that thou mightest charge some that they teach
  no other doctrine, Neither give heed to fables and endless genealogies,
  which minister questions, rather than godly edifying which is in faith:
  so do.  Now the end of the commandment is charity out of a pure heart,
  and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned: From which some having
  swerved have turned aside unto vain jangling; Desiring to be teachers
  of the law; understanding neither what they say, nor whereof they affirm.

Chapter 14

  Then said he also to him that bade him, When thou makest a dinner or a
  supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor
  thy rich neighbours; lest they also bid thee again, and a recompence be
  made thee.  But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the
  lame, the blind: And thou shalt be blessed; for they cannot recompense
  thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
  And when one of them that sat at meat with him heard these things, he
  said unto him, Blessed is he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.

Chapter 1

  But we know that the law is good, if a man use it lawfully; Knowing this,
  that the law is not made for a righteous man, but for the lawless and
  disobedient, for the ungodly and for sinners, for unholy and profane,
  for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers,
  For whoremongers, for them that defile themselves with mankind,
  for menstealers, for liars, for perjured persons, and if there be
  any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine; According to the
  glorious gospel of the blessed God, which was committed to my trust.
  And I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who hath enabled me, for that he
  counted me faithful, putting me into the ministry; Who was before a
  blasphemer, and a persecutor, and injurious: but I obtained mercy,
  because I did it ignorantly in unbelief.  And the grace of our Lord
  was exceeding abundant with faith and love which is in Christ Jesus.

Chapter 14

  And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said unto
  them, If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother,
  and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own
  life also, he cannot be my disciple.  And whosoever doth not bear his
  cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.  For which of you,
  intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the
  cost, whether he have sufficient to finish it?  Lest haply, after
  he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish it, all that
  behold it begin to mock him, Saying, This man began to build, and was
  not able to finish.  Or what king, going to make war against another
  king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he be able with
  ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
  Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an ambassage,
  and desireth conditions of peace.  So likewise, whosoever he be of
  you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
  Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it
  be seasoned?  It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill;
  but men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
