For ARTango: Rod & friends were here just last weekend at the Channing-Murray
milonga (I hope you all took the opportunity to dance with them!). They have
offered to try to set CU dancers up with Chicago dancer hosts. If you are
interested, I can coordinate.
I have no other info on ATI.

The 2010 event will be held at the Westin O'Hare. It is located next to
Chicago's O'Hare airport and has the following advantages:

- Free 5-minute all day shuttle service to and from the airport
- A large upscale hotel with 525 guestrooms and large ballrooms. All workshops
and milongas will be held at the hotel so there is no need to rent a car.
- A five minute walk to the CTA Blue-line train station that goes directly to
downtown Chicago
- All indoor milongas will be held on Birch Veneer Hardwood floor. Supplied by
Dance America, it is assembled without screws, using a cabling system that does
away with grooves and edges, resulting in a super smooth dance floor. The floor
is shipped from Nashville, TN just for our event.

Here are the highlights:

- Registrants with full packages can take up to 12 workshops over 4 days
- You will be treated to the unique fusion of electronic music by Carlos
Libedinsky and his award winning tango band Narcotango from Buenos Aires.
- Here is their website for you to take a peek: http://www.CarlosLibedinsky.com
- There will be five late-night and all-night milongas from Thursday through
Monday (which is a holiday)
- We are honored to have our instructors Pablo Inza of Practica X, Horacio Godoy
of La Viruta and Pablo and Dana from DNI Tango as DJs. For many experienced and
professional tango dancers, these three venues are extremely popular in Buenos
Aires.

Check our Facebook group page for event updates. We hope to see you in 2010.

Cheers,
Shafqat Manzur and Maria Alferov

Remember the Little Prince? The boa with an elephant inside (which is
NOT a hat, by the way)? The rose? The fox?

Well, here is the plan: this Sunday at noon we get together - bringing
along some food and drink to share, and READ the Little Prince by the
fireplace. Yes, I invite you to my home to read along the Little
Prince. We'll eat and we'll also dance later.

Maria wanted me to let you know that dancers in Chicago would be happy to put us
up if we'd like to go to these workshops.
I had a really great time two years ago when he came to Chicago and would highly
reccommend these workshops even if you just go up for a day.

Welcome Fabian Salas & Lola Diaz!

Many of you have registered for the weekend of workshops with legendary
milonguero Fabian Salas and his amazing partner Lola Diaz, but there are some
slots still available. Fabian and Gustavo Naviera initiated the Nuevo tango
movement in the eighties through years of painstaking research and hard work.
They moved this great dance from the static realm to a dynamic art and opened
many new avenues for us. Today, tango enjoys massive success due in large part
to the work of these two maestros. Don't miss a rare opportunity to take lessons
from these great instructors and from Argentina and also watch them perform.

Fabian is also the founder and organizer of the largest tango festival in
Argentina, CITA. Now in its 12th year, the event brings in hundreds of dancers
from all over the world to Buenos Aires from March 14-21. The instructors at the
festival are in the top category in the world and it is a reflection of how much
importance Fabian puts into the quality of workshops.

As a special thank you to all of you who have supported us over the past year,
we have instituted a program whereby you can register now and pay in cash at the
studio during the workshop weekend.
