"A survey of high school members by the National Association for College
Admission Counseling reports a significant majority (70%) of high schools
indicating increases in the number of students who are feeling the need to
modify their ambitions and choose more affordable options over their "dream
schools." Other findings included an increase in the number of students seeking
admission to public versus private colleges and a heightened interest in
community, junior, and technical colleges."
