----- Forwarded Message -----

Hi Mani

Apologies for the slightly late email, but it's been frantic here in the office! It was lovely to speak to you yesterday and I'm delighted that you're going to contribute something to the project. This email will tell you a bit more about the project and includes some links that it would be useful to watch.

On Saturday November 12th, between midnight and midnight, we are asking people in Britain to film something that captures the intimacy and singularity of their life and to upload it to a dedicated channel on YouTube.  With the support of executive producers Ridley Scott and Academy Award winning Kevin Macdonald, director Morgan Matthews will use the rich trove of material submitted to craft a feature-length documentary film that captures the variety and vibrancy of life in Britain today.  The result will be broadcast on BBC2 next year as part of the Cultural Olympiad.

The idea is based on ‘Life In A Day’, the global, user-generated feature film produced by Ridley Scott’s company Scott Free London and directed by Kevin Macdonald. 80,000 videos were submitted to YouTube by people all over the world, wherever they were and whatever they were doing. The result was a powerful and inspiring portrait of the world on a single day.

You won’t need professional equipment to do this, a camcorder, the video function on your camera or even your phone is enough. We will have a dedicated website with tips on how to film but ultimately this is about sharing your world not professional technique.

We’re not looking for master filmmakers. We want honest, personal films which provide a real insight into the lives of people in Britain and the things that are important to them.  We want to encourage people from every corner of the country and every walk of life to submit a film so that we can reflect the true kaleidoscope of the UK today.

To help you get started here is a link to a what you need to do: http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/tv/britain-in-a-day/bbc_britain_in_a_day.pdf and there will be lots of helpful videos, ideas for filming, a list of questions you may want to answer and plenty more info including how to get your films onto the You Tube channel (must be uploaded by the 21st November) on our official website from Friday 28th October: www.bbc.co.uk/britaininaday

You'll be able to watch 'Life In A Day' on the BBC on Thursday at 9pm or via You Tube from the 28th October:  http://www.youtube.com/user/lifeinaday

We want to hear a range of voices and get a sense of people's lives. To guide this process, and this is by no means prescriptive, there are some questions that contributors may want to use as a guide to inspire them:

â–     What can you see from your window and how would you describe your area?

â–     What do you like or dislike about Britain?

â–     What do you see in the mirror?

â–     What do you worry about?

â–     What is your vice?

â–     What makes you happy?

â–     What is the most important thing in your life at the moment?

â–     If you are working, show us what you do.

â–     Show us what you do in the evening.

Hi everyone,

Just a little reminder that we meet on Monday at the Skylark for our November
Moot.

We are sorry to see Heather move to Kent with her family, but she's keeping up
the pagan ways down there, and two more regulars cannot be with us for a little
while, but - judging by the numbers at the last moot - I think we are in for an
evening of good company and chat.
See you there

Dear all,

PF London Yule Open Ritual.
On Thursday 22nd Dec’11. By Tribe of Avalon.
Pre-ritual gathering: 7.30pm. Ritual start. 8pm. Feasting & Social: 9pm-10pm. Venue: Conway Hall, Red Lion Square, Holborn. Entrance fee: PF members/conc £5. All others £6). Please also bring seasonal food /home made food & drinks to share at feast after ritual.
Like the dawning of each day is when we are deepest in our dreams, so the returning of the Sun of the Winter Solstice sees us going deeper within ourselves to find our still meditative centre as we dream of the year to come. Join the Tribe of Avalon as we honour the return of the Sun at Winter Solstice and explore the realm of our dreams, where we journey with Arianrhod, who guides us on the path of the silver spiral, sharing our dreams and aspirations with Her and receiving Her gifts in return. Prior to the ritual, please reflect on your dreams for 2012. Join us after for feasting and socialising. Ritual coordinated by Elle Hull, Priestess of Avalon (www.AvalonBlessings.co.uk).

Hi everyone,

It's that time of the month again so please join me, regulars and newcomers to
the Croydon Crows Moot on Monday.

Last month was unusally busy (Christmas trade, I suppose) and there were no
seats downstairs, so the Moot moved upstairs. I am getting a bit concerned about
this as we sometimes miss people who do not know there is an upstairs.

Firstly, I promise: the Moot remains downstairs unless we really can't get
anywhere to sit.

If we are forced to move upstairs, and you can't see us downstairs, go to the
back of the pub, go up the stairs, we are probably going to be on the sofas at
the far end.

A good reason for not going upstairs is that they close it at 11pm so we have to
move downstairs then anyway.

I shall be bringing a little fabric crow so newcomers can identify us. This was
a present from Sandra for just such an occasion, and, in respect for her, may I
say that if you know you cannot manage stairs and *if you can ring me in
advance* I shall make sure someone (or everyone!) is downstairs to greet you and
we shall stay with you downstairs irrespective of what we may have done earlier.

So, I hope to see you on Monday

Paul

Subject: Newcomers wanted for Ritual (PF London Imbolc Open Ritual)
hern3000
Send Email Send Email

Hi all,

As you know, Pagan Federation London (PF London) holds 8 indoor open rituals every year to celebrate the major festivals.
The first of these in 2012 is our Imbolc Ritual...taking place on Thursday 2nd February 2012 - at Conway Hall.  Pre-rite stuff starts around 7.30pm,..but ritual is between 8pm- 8.45pm.

Here's the thing- I am looking for 2-3 NEW COMERS  or BEGINNERS to ritual work, to join me in facilitating this open ritual (along with a few experienced ritual friends).
Why?

This is all about a magical experiment- (and every once in a while I do one of those!! And those who know me know that :-)

Imbolc is all about the end of Winter, and beginning of the new cycle.. about the Goddess returning to the land, as Bride, Brigette.. the virgin Goddess.
And for that reason, I specifically am looking for new comers to paganism, and beginners...
because  a) the energy they bring is absolutely important
b) this gives them a brilliant opportunity to get involved.

Before anyone starts getting into a panic..  I've done this many times before!
In fact the first open ritual I ever facilitated was for Children of Artemis - at their Medieval Witches Ball, in 2004...and the people who were in that closing ritual were invited and got together online in their forums, discussed the ritual.. and finally on the day arrived, had 1 hr run-through...and did it for everyone!    (Since then, I've been running an outdoor group for 7+ years,  run Witchcraft & magic courses for 4+ years etc..   and facilitated conventions, open rituals etc....

So trust me, I want to...and am happy to nurture and encourage new people to experience doing rituals... and Imbolc is the perfect time to start!

The ritual itself is simple - you can read a bit about it here   - on the front page - www.pflondon.org
It will have core sacred-space creation, then some meditative parts for all coming (50+ people) to participate -  We'll have a few experienced friends to lean for support..
And I am keen to hear from new people ..   So don't be shy, don't be nervous...be excited magically, and drop me an e-mail privately via mani@...
or call me on 077689-41373.

We have just over 2 weeks to get this sorted...(oh yes, very exciting..!)
Can it be done?  Yes,absolutely..  as surely as our Sun will continue for many more billion years, and as surely as our world will see 2013!  :-)
The new world starts here...!!

Love & bright Blessings
-Mani

(PFL Events Coordinator)

ps. We'll do another experiment later in the year..  :-)   It's all about getting everyone involved into the magic..   Rituals...by the people for the people! :-)

Dear Pagan & Magical friends,

Invitation to :   Astrology Webinar on 12th March'12.

February started with a Mars-opposition-Venus.  On the 15th Feb, Venus-squared-Pluto!!   That energy overshadowed Valentine’s day..  Guess what? 14th March is looking brilliant.    Venus-trines-Mars!   (good)    Venus-conjuncts-Jupiter (auspicious).   ..and Venus-trines-pluto (Hot n intense!)..and and..Mars-tines-Jupiter..  (project and expand!)…and following day (15th Match), Mars-trine-pluto (more heat and passion..and raw sex!!)   That's not all. We are building up the expectations of the Venus-transit of the Sun, due to take place on 6th June!

On the other hand, we have got an intense aspect of Uranus-square-Pluto and Jupiter-square-Neptune , taking place on 24th/ 25th of June. Squares in astrology are the most excruciating ones that agitate us into taking action on pain of internal stress (not even oppositions are that challenging. They just require compromises and balances).

I've been exploring western astrology for over 2 decades. I've written weekly forecasts for AgeNet in the mid-90's, provided private Chart & interpretations, and have freely given transit advise for close family & pagan friends for many years. My personal interests are in forecasting, and in what I call Astro-magic (using charts and transits to do personal magical work - not quite chart-correcting, but similar in a magical way).

The upcoming *double-grand trines is one not to be missed for personal work... especially when beneficial planets are involved. Let' be honest- we can all do with more fortunes, wealth, luck and love.   (*grand trine happens between 3 planets, and a double-grand-trine is when 2 of these happening at the `same time').

So I like to share my insights on these, on how you can tune into these stellar energies and benefit from them in your lives.
Join me in a special webinar - totally ** free!   Post questions beforehand.  Log-in, tune in, phone in ..and listen.. watch...and even interact via chat with other listeners!  (Why Free? because astrology is a private calling, and these very trines are compelling me to share them. There is plenty of energies and good fortunes in the known universe to benefit all lives - we don't need to hog, hide or hijack any of it).

Here's the link for the Webinar..   Just go take a look now..
And on the night, click in to `listen to webinar' and ...listen.   It's that easy.

In case some of you are thinking that you don't know astrology, transits, aspects..  Don't panic.  The webinar page has a link to an astrology article that gives all a simple beginners guide.  In addition, I will spend a little but important time covering the basics of astrology in the webinar itself.  Besides which, knowledge of astrology is not required at all, for you to benefit from it.  Most of us drive a car but not all know how the machines work under the bonnet. Same with astrology.   You can use it, without knowing the details of its mechanics.

So, I hope to speak to you on the night in the net or via phone / skype.
Bright Blessings & great fortunes

A few people have recently joined. If you need directions to the Skylark or how
to recognise a pagan moot when you see one, just drop me a line!

Dear all,

Earth Hour is today...31st March..  between 8.30pm- 9.30pm local time..where ever you are!
Its a time when people are encouraged to turn off all electric devises (non-essential) ..save power and make a statement!

For our part, 2nd year running, PF London & friends will be gathering in central london for a candle-lit walk along river Thames.

We are starting to gather at Tower Hill tube station - where there is a watch-out balcony area..with a huge Sun-dial sculpture (appropriate !)
We'll be  there from 8pm onwards......But at 8.30pm we'll start the walk..

It's a short walk..  but will be social and enjoyable..  with candles!
We'lll cross main road through under-pass / road, to the side of Tower of London... walk along it's perimeter and get to the riverbank..
Walking on, we'll cross Tower Bridge..  to the other side, and get to the flashy buildings of City Hall..
They have all sorts of floor fountain - water features, lights, and what looks like a giant seating area..

We'll be there for a bit of informal picnic (at night)..and then conclude the event.. (London bridge station is nearby).

This is just a social event..  enjoyable...no ritual as such..  (that's all for Earth Day next month in Trent park).

There's a blurb on PFL website   www.pflondon.org

There is also a new Gaia Video competition (details to be confirmed in 1-2 days).

See ya at the walk.

Bright Blessings

Dear Aly,

I just this minute sent you another email welcoming you to the Moot!

For directions, if you can find your way to East Croydon station, there are
plenty of buses outside the station going along the High Street. I forget all
the numbers but I remember the 119 and 466 go from outside East Croydon station
to nearly opposite the Skylark.

This assumes you are coming using public transport, of course. If you are
checking on the A-Z South End is a short stretch of road betweeen the well known
High Street and Brighton Road.

We will try to sit on the comfy seats on the right as you come into the Skylark.
Sometimes these are taken in which case we will be further to the back. On the
busiest days we have been known to have to go upstairs so do remmebr to check
upstairs if you cannot find us.

I will try to remember to bring along a little toy crow so you will know who we
are

Best Wishes

Paul

Hi, really sorry, but Si and I won't be able to make it tonight :(
I have been trying to find a babysitter with no luck. We also won't be able to join you at the festival, due to financial constraints.
We hope to see you all one more time before we move out west!
