Description

The purpose of the crows list is to promote an enhanced level of friendship between humans birds in the crows family (crows, ravens, magpies, jays, rooks, jackdaws, etc.), via the following methods:

1. To sharing the value of all birds in the crow family (all corvidae) with others.

2. To promote the value of corvids in aviculture via: a.) educating people about the availability of legal-to-keep non-native crow family birds, and b.) advocacy for legalizing into private aviculture native-to-the-US crow family birds, in a similar manner perhaps as the native game birds and raptors, which are legal in private aviculture. Crow aviculturists from outside the US are welcome as well.

3. To sharing our experiences of helping crows, both through official rehabilitation, and through informal assistance.

4. To sharing our experiences of interaction with crows, whether by feeding, or helping, or watching.

The list covers all birds in the crow family.

Keywords: crow, raven, magpie, jay, rook, jackdaw, magpie-jay, crows, ravens, magpies, jays, rooks, jackdaws, magpie-jays, aviculture, breeding, breeders, NutCrackers, Choughs, nutcracker, chough.

Note: To write to the owner of the list at the crows-owner@yahoogroups.com address you must include the numbers "3.141" in the subject of your message. All other messages sent to the list owner shall be deleted. This restriction only applies to messages to the list owner at the crows-owner address - not to messages posted to the list.

Also because of space restrictions I've had to create another group where we can add additional photos and files. It's a group called crowfiles, and is at http://www.yahoogroups.com/group/crowfiles

Regarding image posting to the group itself: The group is primarily about crow family birds, so please try and limit image posts so being about on topic issues relating to corvids. Occasional pics of other birds are ok.
