The CRL Choir --the singing ambassador of goodwill and music minister of the Church of the Risen Lord at the University of the Philippines , Diliman, Quezon City, Phils. It is a dynamic group of students, professors, businessmen, professionals, artists, and some retirees. The Choir has been singing for the Lord since 1949 when it was founded by the late Flora Zarco-Rivera who referred to it as the first organized choral group in UP. It actively participates both in the congregational programs and activities and in the outreach ministry of CRL.
The Choir prepares for five concerts annually: the Love Concert in February, the Lenten Cantata, the Anniversary Concert and the Flora Zarco-Rivera Memorial Concert in November, and the Carols by Candlelight. In addition, it goes out every third Sunday of the month to share its music with other churches in Metro Manila and in the provinces.
Another significant program of the Choir is the scholarship granted to deserving students in the College of Music. Presently, five scholars are enjoying full scholarship covering tuition fees and monthly stipend.
It's on-going projects are fund-raising for additional scholars and for a 30-seater coaster it can use for its outreach ministry.
The Choir is interested in establishing linkages with other choirs in other countries who are in the same mininstry.
