The Daily News has a
big story on page 7 today.

They report on a new video
online showing Vox Pop's beloved Statue of Liberty being desecrated.
This hits me hard, because the Statue of Liberty means a lot to me. My
great-great grandparents came over on a boat from Poland and took a
lot of hope from the Statue in NY Harbor. I visited it with my dad as
a boy.
I'm upset, but I'm even more
upset about the Daily News bad reporting. Vox Pop manager Debi
Ryan told the Daily News that an eyewitness to its original theft
called 911 twice, while Statue was being stolen. The NYPD did nothing.
They have been very responsive in the past, when I called them for
emergencies at Vox Pop.
Why did the Daily News
choose to leave out this fact? Did the Daily News even
talk to the eyewitness?
Key Debi Ryan quotes were
fabricated by Daily News. She was made to sound hysterical:
"I'm scared. I'm hoping I don't have to fear for my life but I
feel very nervous." She today said, "In spite of what you
may have read, I am not in fear for my life, I do not feel personally
targeted...."
What's more, the Daily
News' article's reference to Daniel Pearl also only tells half the
story. Why was Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl decapitated
by terrorists in Pakistan? He was exploring the forbidden subject of
the Pakistani ISI, the clandestine Pak intelligence wing which has
long been a proxy enforcers for our CIA. Ever since the Afghan/Soviet
conflict, the ISI has been used by CIA to fight its dirty wars. In
fact, the guy who was convicted of killing Pearl, Omar Saeed Sheikh is
widely believed to be an operative for British and American
intelligence. Sheikh wired over $100,000 to 9/11 hijacker Mohamed Atta
right before 9/11, at the behest of the ISI. See the stories in Agence
France Press, Asia Times, or Times of India, all of which back up
these shocking allegations.
So, despite the hysteria and
fear-mongering of the Daily News, our questions should really
be:
Why has Vox Pop's
long-standing commitment to free speech (including 9/11 skepticism)
been left out of the story?
Who had a motive to
terrorize the Vox Pop community with this video?
Why did NYPD not respond to
the multiple emergency phone calls that the statue was being
stolen?
Oh, and to reporter Matthew
Lysiak, I would please note:
Vox Pop didn't ask the
community for "donations" as you reported. It did sell
Common Stock shares to friends and family investors. There's a big
difference, because the former sounds like begging. I request your
paper print a correction.
Whoever did this desecration
of the Statue put Vox Pop's name in the video title. They were trying
to somehow link Vox Pop to their abhorrent propaganda. The desecrators
said, "Liberty is the holy masquerade of the decapitated, so we
decapitated it in the struggle for a truly free unity." That makes
zero sense. It shows me that the act was not against the USA, or
freedom. It was against Vox Pop, and what we stand for: free speech,
skepticism of the government's official story around war, torture,
and 9/11. Real news.

afraid. The truth is powerful, and it urges us onward. Today, I'm the
Canvass Director for NYC CAN. We just submitted 52,000 valid
signatures to the City Clerk, to get the first-ever, real, independent
investigation of all the questions about 9/11 onto the ballot this
Fall. Every New Yorker will be able to vote about this, in November,
if all goes well. But we fully expect resistance from the
powers-that-be. The courts, the media and the government have all
failed to investigate the crime of our time. Everyone should know the
full story here, the stakes are high.
