The Creative Machine Newsletter has been a fixture of the sewing world for many years. It was founded by Robbie Fanning, and was mailed to sewing enthusiasts until her retirement in 2002. The printed newsletter was supplemented by an online email group.

This Yahoo group continues that tradition in Robbie's honor, offering an online discussion forum for sewing enthusiasts, free of commercial sponsorship or advertising. Members share their creative energy and encourage other members to explore and expand their creative boundaries.

Once a month, the list welcomes a different Guest Host to lead the conversation. These hosts include luminaries from the sewing and textile world, including pattern designers, specialty retailers, fabric artists, authors and more.
