Hey everyone, This is David Barker. I spoke with most all y'all a few months ago at the "Green Scene" at the Coffee Gallery in Alta Dena about the Awakening the Dreamer/Changing the Dream symposium. You signed the contact list I passed around to let you know when we were going to have a symposium in the Pasadena area. (Or you didn’t sign anything at all, you’re just someone I would love to have be there.) Well, it took a bit longer than I had anticipated, but the time has come. Next Saturday, July 18th, at the Awareness Center (2801 Foothill Blvd, just east of San Gabriel Blvd) from 1-5pm. $10 donation at the door or bring some organic food as your donation (no non-biodegradable plastic please). Please call the good folks at the Awareness Center to RSVP if you are planning to come. Their number is 626-796-1567. As a quick reminder, the purpose of the ATD/CTD symposium is "to bring forth an environmentally sustainable, spiritually fulfilling, socially just human presence on planet earth." (and have fun doing it...;) The more immediate and localized intention is to bring together as many like-minded folk as possible to discover and share and participate with the people in your community who are already working in small, and medium and large-sized ways to live more susatinably and peacably on the planet. We're all in this together...this is an opportunity to find more of each other and, to whatever degree you are moved, to do a little more in whatever ways you are inspired to, to create and nurture community and sustainability in our lives.
There will be beautiful music provided by Gaia Mama before we start (promptly at 1pm) and during the break. The last 30-40 minutes will primarily be about networking and sharing with each other about the various organizations that each of us knows about or participates in. There will be a representative from the newly-formed Pasadena/South Pasadena time bank, and information from the Path to Freedom folks (www.pathtofreedom.org and www.freedomgardens.org) here in Pasadena. So, you have a bit of homework...namely to be ready to share (just a little bit) about the people and organizations you know about or participate with that really inspire you, be they local, national or international. We hope you can make it Saturday and are looking forward to creating community together ongoingly. All blessings.
