This list is for the debate between evolution and creationism. Other permitted topics are any nexus between science and religion and church-state separation.
Things that will get you moderated:
Personal attacks.
Unsupported ad hominem attacks on public figures or others in general.
Posts without content. That is, you can't just reply with "this is idiotic" or "you are right!" Make your arguments and support them with evidence. That's debate. "Creationists are idiots!" or "Evolution is a religion!" do not constitute debate. A few minimal posts are acceptable but consistent content-free posts are not.
Excessive quote-mining. Quote to support your point, otherwise debate in your own voice.
NOBODY BUT A BONA FIDE MODERATOR CAN PUT "MODERATOR" IN THE SUBJECT LINE OF A POST! There will be no exceptions to this rule. If you want to reply to a post with "moderator" in the subject line, start a new thread.
There is a 10 post per day limit. If you can say it in 10 emails a day, you need to work on your writing style. Replying to several emails in 1 post is perfectly acceptable.
Moderation consists of being blocked from posting for a few days. It used to consist of the moderator approving of each post. She won't be doing that any more. She has a life.
These rules will change at the whim of the moderator. If you need a clarification such as "exactly what is quote-mining" post a note to the moderator: sbcogan (at) cox (dot) net.
