I've read more baseball books that I care to admit, lest others think
I don't otherwise have a life. Some have obviously been better than
others but I've always felt compelled to slog my way through even the
worst, for no other reason than to justify the expense. Another way of
getting through them was to treat them as penance and atonement for my
sins. Sometimes I've prayed for a colouring (<---that's the way we
spell it north of the border) book versions to help me persevere
through some of the more lacklustre volumes.
Not to fret, Cait. You da best!
Crazy '08 is a delightful book which I'll doubtlessly read more than
once, not because I didn't understand it the first time but rather
because I thought it was great. The painstaking research, descriptors,
anecdotal material and wry humour (<-- yup, we do all 'or' words like
that here, so deal with it) are fabulous. It's as though you were
there in '08. Having viewed you photo, I'm reasonably satisfied that
you weren't.
If you're ever near Bowmanville, Ontario, Canada, bring your glove
and/or beer mug and we'll toss a few to celebrate your wonderful
literary effort.
Congratulations
Larry Wood
