I'm super excited about the Summit of Awesome (which is the best name ever!) & I hope a lot of you who made it to CraftCon can go. I heard about it, but it wasn't until I ran into Rachel the other night & realized that it's actually a spin of CraftCon - yay!
I'd love to speak with the organizers about speaking/being a presenter for a session there. Marie, are you the best person to connect with for that and/or could you put me in touch with someone? I sent Tina an email, but I don't know if she got it, nor am I sure if she is the main contact or not... or if they're just inundated right now. That said, now that I know it's a spin off of CraftCon, I could send her another email. Hopefully it'll help that they know I was at the one in SF... I'd really like to be a part of it!
I just completed a very successful talk at SxSW Interactive, titled "Snappy Strategies for Selling Your Arts & Crafts Online", and I am in the process of creating an entire site dedicated to helping people get their business online (craft or otherwise). So, these last couple months I've been interviewing crafters & small business owners, both new & experienced, finding out what they've found works, what they need help with, etc.
As most of you know, this is a topic I'm passionate about & there was such a positive response at SxSW that I'd love to share it with more crafters & creatives at the Summit.
Hope this email finds you all doing well!

Hi all!
Craft Con organizers are taking a time-out this year to retool our format. We have some exciting new ideas in store to facilitate expanded participation in the event. "But where will I get my in-person crafty business conference fix in 2009?", you may be asking. Thankfully, Hello Craft has come to the rescue to keep the conversation going. The Summit of Awesome in Washington D.C. is scheduled to take place May 1st-3rd, 2009. The event is being organized by Craft Con alumni, and we know it's going to be, well…awesome!
Check out the post on craftcon.org or head over to hellocraft.com for all the deets.
xoxo,
Marie
