Why else: Well it has been a fantastic year but with Tryggvy's war taking up so
much of my
time I realized that I only made three events. So with winter barking at our
door I thought I
would have a tourney in my back yard and since we are having a tourney we may as
well
collect up some money for a healing heavy fighter who is in need.
Social Center: The big garage will be open as a social center for everyone to
use. Sorry no
casino this time but for those wanting to hang out do arts and crafts well you
have a place.
Please bring board or card games.
Tourney Fighters: So the tourney format is will be this … SURPRISE!! I have been
toying
with a new tourney fighting format for an event I have planned but I want to
test it. So we
will test it out and see how this simple format works and if it doesn't work
well then it will
be a double elimination
Wee Bit of Melee Fighting: Oh and for you who just can't find you're way to
fighting in the
tourney we have a little melee fight for you're as well.
GAME NIGHT FOLLOWS: we have a games night, for both card & board or whatever you
like, you bring the game and we will play.
Garb: not required
What you can bring to help do to help
• Food and Drinks: Sure that would be great
• Chairs: bring your camp chairs and a few extra would be great
• Table: That would be great too
• Game: You favorite board or card game
• Adult Beverage: Sure that's ok
• Extra water bottles would be nice too
Two Showers Available: please bring your own towel
So: lets go back over everything, lots of fun, social time, fighting, games and
snacks.. ok
all that for free. Donations help a good fighter trying to get back on his
feet… what they
heck! This is going to be great fun!

Well, due to unforseen cicumstances, we will not be having live music at the
party on the 9th after all. The party goes on though, Lisa will be hosting it
and I may or may not be here, depending on whether or not I have the finances to
go to Eugene.

Greetings I am the Dread Pirate Kitten (as most of you know)
At seadog my flag was stolen (as expected at a pirate event) - it is
black with a kitten skull and a flogger and crop crossed underneath in
silver and edged in purple.
What wasn't expect is for it not to be returned and for no one to
seemingly know what happened to it.
I have heard some rumors of people possibly taking it and destroying
it/throwing it away and I certainly hope that is not true. Money and
Time went into making it.. and I hope that maybe if I put the word out
- someone will come across and let me know that it is safe.
If you hear anything about it - a reward will be granted for it's safe
return.
No problem go ahead and forward. Like I said we can get people in armor. We ask
for
three wars a year or atleast a good try. We have many people from many groups in
our
number and some times we march for them. Pass the word on and we will work
something
out.

Hi Tryggvy!
This is Talia of the Iron Ring. Do you mind if I forward this
information to the Iron Ring list? We have several newbies and
regulars who are interested in heavy fighting. I'm trying to get us
as much information about getting started so that we can get more of
our group on the field!
Thanks!

Hi all.
Some of you I know some of you I have only heard of. I am Tryggvy Landstaker and
I am
the leader of the River Dragons war group. This is our second year and the River
Dragons
number some 20 fighters and fifty over all members. We are mostly out of the
Three
Mountains area. We only roll out for three wars a year as River Dragons though
we attend
many events on our own.
Our theme is "Fast to the field" We are all about breaking down the barrier of
want to fight
and making fighters out people fast. We mass produce armor for large groups when
we
make armor.
We are also home for fighters from other groups who do not war. So house
banished had a
few fighters and we helped them get into armor fast and they fight with the
dragons but
live and party with house banished. When we take the field 25% of our unit is
non-dragons
who fight with the river dragons from other non-war houses. We honor these
houses by
fighting in therer name.
We always take the side of the smallest army.
When not marching in the name of another house we march in the name of some one
in
need like an ill member of the SCA or some one who should be helped out.
Our war unit fights for fun only. There is another about is that is gung ho
rattan monkey.
We love to fight but our goal is to have more fun on the war field then any
other unitl. You
will see more hugs and laughter from our unit then you would think possible.
Our motto is "It's all about the love"
I am excited to be part of this list

1. Pirate Karaoke Saturday, July 15th!

The owner of the Mandarin Palace was so happy with us and our behavior that he
is GLADLY allowing us to host the next Pirate Karaoke there on Saturday, July
15th! For those who expressed crowding concerns, he is opening the banquet room
directly behind the KJ table for extra space.
So once again, it's on!
The Rules of Pirate Karaoke
1: YOU WILL TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT PIRATE KARAOKE.
2: YOU WILL TELL YOUR FRIENDS ABOUT PIRATE KARAOKE.
3: IF THIS IS YOUR FIRST PIRATE KARAOKE, YOU HAVE TO TRY TO SING!
4: NO WEAPONS, REAL OR FAKE, SHALL BE BROUGHT TO PIRATE KARAOKE. These things
take place at bars, people, not SCA events or Cons. Special exceptions may be
made if the PK event takes place in a rented establishment, and if so, it will
be announced. The reason for this rule should be self-explanatory, but I'll
explain anyway. Weapons and alcohol don't mix well, particularly if the
uninitiated (mundanes) are about. They do not understand us, and the majority of
them are not willing to take the time to learn. They'll simply call the
authorities, or take matters into their own hands, and we don't want the
trouble.
5: NO OUTSIDE ALCOHOL OR OTHER BEVERAGES SHALL BE BROUGHT TO PIRATE KARAOKE.
This is the real world, where the lawless go to jail for real, and businesses
can get shut down for real. By violating this rule, you run the risk of either
or both these things happening.
6: MAINTAIN CONDUCT APPROPRIATE FOR PUBLIC VIEWING. It's okay to get a little
rowdy, but for the sake of people whose virgin eyes can't handle seeing someone
do what they wish they could do, please do not grope, goose, cop feels, or
otherwise touch anyone in an inappropriate manner. This can get us thrown out of
the bar.
7: THERE SHALL ALWAYS BE A TWO DRINK MINIMUM, DESIGNATED DRIVERS BEING THE
ONLY EXCEPTIONS. In the past, one of the chief complaints has been that the bar
wasn't making any money on the Pirates and Gypsies, but the KDJ was raking it in
hand over fist. While you may think of this as a sob-story motivated by the
greed of a seedy establishment owner, try to think of it this way: It's a
business, and businesses need to profit to survive. If you are only singing and
getting water, the bar doesn't make money off you. A crowded house is no good if
the crowd isn't paying, and we want the establishment to stay open to us. ALSO,
IT HELPS TO TIP THE STAFF. THEY WORK HARD, SO GIVE THEM THEIR DUE.
Frederick the Reckless

As much as I hate to do this, I am forced to cancel the Revel this year. The
rather large lack of funds, the remoteness of the site, not being able to have

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Friday, July 7th, 2006
Century 16 Eastport theater, at 82nd and Holgate
Greetings all!
The time has come once again for a mass of marauding moviegoers to descend upon
a local theater in garb and freak the mundanes. Clear your calendars because
this time we couldn't ask for a better movie! Come one, come all, in your
pirate garb (or otherwise nautically themed costume) and see the Pirates of the
Caribbean sequel! Let's get everyone out to the Century 16 Eastport theater on
82nd Ave and Holgate for an evening showing sometime after 6:00pm on Friday the
7th of July, 2006. We will nail down the precise time once the new schedules
are released. There is also the possibility of an after-movie invasion of a
local pub for rounds of rum, grog or whatever floats your boat (depending on
interest as of show-night). You can contact me at benjamind123@... or
call 503-267-7767 with any questions.

Important correction:
I checked back with Internet Movie Database today and I can't believe I actually
got the entire MONTH wrong for this.
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest will debut in theaters July 7th 2006.
Please disregard my previous call to rally at the theater next weekend and start
clearing your calendars for early July instead!

Special Event Announcement!
Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest
Friday, June 9th 2006
Century 16 Eastport theater, at 82nd and Holgate
Greetings all!
The time has come once again for a mass of marauding moviegoers to descend upon
a local theater in garb and freak the mundanes! And this time we couldn't as
for a better movie. Come one, come all, in your pirate garb (or otherwise
nautically themed costume) and see the Pirates of the Caribbean sequel! After
talking to a lot of folks, Friday, June 9 looks to be the best day. Lets get
everyone out to the Century 16 Eastport theater on 82nd Ave and Holgate for an
evening showing sometime after 6:00pm. We will nail down the precise time once
the new schedules are released next week. And stay tuned to this chat group for
details concerning the possibility of an after-movie invasion of a local pub for
rounds of rum, grog or whatever floats your boat!
Sapienter si sincere,

P.S. ~ unfortunately I will not be able to buy tickets for broke folks this time
as The Gathering has significantly depleted my treasure troves.

Subject: Fwd: Egil's registrations, available space, and gate info!
Greetings to the populace of Adiantum and beyond!
All pre-registrations for Egil's 32 have been processed and
confirmations went out in Saturday's mail. You should see your
confirmations arriving this week. In all we have 485 people
pre-registered, with a site cap of 1200. This leaves 715 spaces open
for anyone who wants to attend but hasn't pre-registered. If you have
not managed to pre-register, don't despair, it is very likely that we
will have space for you and you can register at gate on arrival. The
costs for registering at gate remain the same as if you pre-registered:

I managed to lose my vehicle. If any one can help me with a ride to the
gathering, i will pay all of gas! Just me and a small amount of gear. Thanks!

I am trying with a capital T. The reason I have not been as active as I want to
this eventing season is that I have had a chaotic time at home. Work was being
bitchy about time of for events and now I just started a new job mon.Add to that
the fact we are moving (the date has gotten changed 3 times) that week (probably
that weekend) and the chaos mounts. It's horrid :) Micah says I can go though
even though our move date got pushed back to that weekend. Now I just have to
verify with the new job. That I wont be working. As they gave me VERY short
notice I was getting hired I get the feeling they are attempting to be
accomodating.

And BTW, are you coming to The Gathering in two weeks?
