This group is to inform teens of the dangers of playing the choking game also known as fainting/passout game, Space Monkey, Black out,American dream,Flatliner,space cowboy, Knock out, Gasp, RisingSun, and Airplain. More than 1,000 children DIE each year playing the game. DON'T BECOME A STATISTIC!!!
WHAT IS "THE CHOKING GAME"?
Typically 9-16 year olds are participating, But anyone of any age have been known to play also.

WHAT ARE THE DANGERS?
Lack of oxygen to the brain ( to cause the high ) causes immediate irrevocable brain damage, EVERY TIME. The High sensation is in actuality the cells of the brain seizing. Effects of the body being with out oxygen are: Brain damage, Concussions, Strokes, Heart attacks, Seizures, and DEATH

WHAT ARE THE WARNING SIGNS?
Please be aware, Warning signs are not always obvious or required
*Bruising or red marks around the neck
*Ligature type items in knots(bed sheets, belts, tee-shirts, ties, ect.)
*Marks on furniture or closet rods and door nobs from previous attemps
*Frequent headaches or grogginess after being alone
*Unusual need for privacy ( locked doors )
*Bloodshot eyes or pinpoint bruising around the eyes

HOW CAN I PROTECT MY CHILD?
Chances are your child already knows of the Choking Game, what they don't know are the dangers. Have on-going conversations about the dangers associated with this activity and other dangerous risk taking behaviors luring children by the percived high ( Inhalants, Over the counter meds, ect. )
