The Coos County Freecycle (TM) Message system is intended to provide people who live or work generally in and around Coos County, Oregon USA with the opportunity to both give away unwanted items instead of sending them to a landfill - as well as a means for those seeking used items to find it. Actually living in Coos County is not required, as many from neighboring counties work in or travel through Coos County. Rarely, we sometimes reject membership applications from outside of our operational areas if spamming or other issues arise. Please Note: Decisions made by our group moderators carry the same weight as decisions or actions taken by the list owner.

Generally speaking, anyone may join and post messages in regard to items they wish to give away, as well as those seeking specific items they need. New members are moderated until they've shown a "track record" of appropriate messages. All this means is that messages they post publicly wait for moderator approval before being released to the group, usually only a few hours. This is to help prevent abuse of the list by hit-and-run spammers.

Pet Wanted & Pet Offered ads are welcome and encouraged. Breeding ads are not permitted in any form, due to abuse.

The main rule is that all items must be free! No selling of -ANY- kind (including Yard Sales) is permitted. One final note: Messages requesting, offering, or discussing controlled items or substances (guns, ammunition, drugs, etc) are not permitted due to their generally controversial nature.
