er Deadstick's instructions, and despite the
best
efforts of YAHOO! to get me po'd, I'm here.
Youse
stunt grunts might be interested in knowing
that
today I posted a letter to Bert Metkemeijer
about
his beautiful classic stunter "TRIANIC"...see it in
your PAMPA Classic Era Plansbook. Gotta wait and see
if he has any kind of plans, then might
be
looking for a draftsman to redraw it. My wish is to get
it published and available as a PAMPA plan.
If
you look at the 2 view (NEAT!), the model looks
to
have quite a large TVo, which should make it a
good
flier. The listed engine is a ST 35S, but it
looks
like the model is quite large, and a 45 or
50
might be in order. Any encouragement would
be
appreciated! I am also very interested in gettting
Riley
Wooten's "Slick Stunt Ship" published as a
PAMPA
classic plan. It LOOKS "NOBLER", but it is
definitely
NOT! See it in Classic Plans Book also. If you are
ordering balsa & supplies from Riley's business (Lone
Star), you might inquire about plans for the model. If
enough of us ask, it might get him to make plans
available or get them published so he'll be done with it!
Riley did join PAMPA this year...some of you might have
to fly against
him! Tight Lines, Steve O'Bat
y the way, it should be noted that the modeler who died was not the same Gary
Harris who flies combat in the Pacific Northwest. He is alive and well and
preparing for the Bladder Grabber.
ell, it took awhile to convince Yahoo that I was already a member, but I managed
it.

Is there any kind of schedule for the chat room?

Randy
K John, I got your message and accepted membership. I'm now known as clflyer2
since some Yahoo stole my moniker. This looks pretty good. I'll put a link to
it from my page.
Bill Calkins
ohn--the modeler that was killed is named Gary
Harris. He was from Alameda and was visiting relatives in
San Jose when he was killed.
(Don was having
trouble getting into the forum, so sent me this via
e-mail. If anyone else is having trouble with passwords
being accepted, etc., let me know and I'll see if I can
sort the problem out. It may be simply a matter of
high traffic.)
believe our forum has its own chat room. From
the CL Forum home page, click the "enter" link at the
lower left, under "Chat Room." It takes a while to
load, but you should wind up in the CL forum chat room.
It just takes two to get a chat going, so schedule
with a friend. Others who drop in can join in. Or
propose a time, as Nils has done. Enjoy!
here never seems to be anyone in the C/L Chat
Room. Once I found 4 people, but all were R/C'ers,
except one who did't engage in modeling at all. Should
there be a C/L Chat "club meeting" scheduled, perhaps
weekly, so more could join in?
on, It's surprising to hear that this could happen to an experienced modeler,
after the warnings we get on this subject. Was it someone many of us would know?
ontrol Line moodel aviation is a fun and very
huge part of my life as I am sure it is also in yours.
In having our fun lets all remember that every now
and then something goes wrong that shouldn't. On
Easter Sunday in San Jose, Ca. an experienced flier
broke a cardinal rule and was fling near power lines
and the inevitable happened. This modeler was killed
instantly when his plane hit the power lines. Lets all have
a good time, but lets all use our good sense and
experience. Sorry to be a downer, but when these things
happen we should take a moment and think. Don Chandler
liers, note the chat room function. Two members in the club at the same time can
have a conversation, or someone can schedule a time for everyone to gather!
he Northwest Control-Line Regionals, the West's
biggest CL model aviation contest, takes place on
Memorial Day weekend. E-mail JohnT4051@... to receive
a flyer via mail with all the contest details.
i John,

Got the message, signed up and here I am! I'll check this site
now that I have it on my list. If not before, see you at the
Regionals.

Dave Gardner
ello, fellow CL fliers. I have set up this forum
to give us a CL discussion area that's available to
everyone with a computer. Enjoy the message board and the
chat room. Please keep the topics to control-line
model aviation activities, and keep the discussion
friendly. Happy flying. --John Thompson
