Announcements for some of the contra dances at the Concord Scout House, Concord, Massachusetts, USA (near Boston MA).
Two committees (of seven independent committees) announce via this list. Plus occasional community news and events at other halls.
Each event has a different caller and musicians.
Typical evenings: mostly contra dances and a couple of waltzes, maybe one or two square dances. Perhaps a Sweedish hambo, or a polka, or a schottische. Musical traditions: the strongly phrased and melodic New England style, mixed with Quebecois and Celtic styles including Irish, Cape Breton, and Scottish. Now and then, Old Time or Southern.
