Please see the attached list which is in Word format.
I am seeking to get at least$5,000 for this
collection. It is massive collection numbering into
the thousands, some of which date back to the early
1970's. Some of the comics in this collection include
the first run of The Defenders, Wolverine's first
appearance in The Hulk and very early editions of such
heroes such as Captain America, Green Arrow and
Batman. Please contact me after you have had a chance
to give it some thought.
Sincerely,
Dane Ilario

It is titled something like:

How to become a superhero in 30 days or less, or your money back
gauranteed.

I first bought this book back around 1990. It is a humor book. I
have had no luck trying to find it on the internet, so thought I
would throw it out here as a last ditch effort.

Thanks
Andy

I would be willing to trade for it or buy it if you have it. If you
have it and dont want to get rid of it, I would like to get the
correct title and author information from you.

Thanks

Hello everyone,

I've lurked for a while and see that this a majorly an mainstream
comic book list. If that's all you are interested in, please just
delete my message.

For those interested in a really good independent graphic novelist,
then continue reading.

He writes and draws his own vision of a futurist world filled with
carnage. He ,also, has a CD full of music that goes along with this
first chapter of his work.

This sound interesting? If so, here's his site:

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
September 10th, 2002

Pittsburgh, PA – Simple minded media fans need not read this.
Reconstructed thoughts only resonate upon the human beings who are
capable of interpreting this futuristic vision filled with
technological carnage.

In such the way that many beings pursued individualism and innovated
a well-known craft, so settles in Jacob Ross, creator
of "dogSolitude_9" - an independent multi-media studio located near
Pittsburgh.

On his Web site, Jacob instructs us that dogSolitude_9 is named after
a junkyard in William Gibson's "Mona Lisa Overdrive", and is combined
with the number of locations the junkyard was erected. Ross first had
the idea of combining his illustration and music in November of 2000
when he realized that, for the independent artist, pressing CD's had
become much cheaper than printing books. Utilizing the Enhanced CD
format, Ross was then able to create not just a graphic novel, but a
multimedia novel with DVD-style bonus features and an EP length Audio
CD containing 5 tracks of what he categorizes as experimental electro-
industrial music.

Jacob's colorful rendition of a technologically advanced world gone
wrong is set to occur over a trilogy of compact discs
entitled "SubTerra". Jacob openly admits that the world of SubTerra
is ins[ired by such cult classics as Blade Runner and HellRaiser.
Each disc is slated to contain a completely new set of EP style
audio, and a new chapter of the graphic novel. The first chapter to
become available titled "Order", is set in a future where humankind
(for reasons long forgotten) has gone underground into the abysmal
Chasm, thus creating the perfect tone and mood for a journeyman who
is running from the law for crimes which he has no remembrance.

The music section of his masterpiece, titled The Maschine Made Flesh
("TMMF"), compliments the graphic novel and should almost be
a "Subterran" law that it must be mentally absorbed before and after
reading the graphic novel. The audio only surrounds the listener
with more of a vivid image of this demented reality. The tracks can
be explained as a blended mixture of Skinny Puppy/Download, Frontline
Assembly, NIN, and ReCoil. TMMF produces sonic landscapes that bare
little resemblance to the "Four on the floor" techno-industrial heard
in dance clubs. To sum up Jacob Ross' explanation of his music, he
proudly states that "this isn't music to get the party started...
this is music to burn it DOWN."

Check out Jacob's colorful Web site for song samples, as well as
graphic snippets from his digital novel. All brave visitors should
subscribe to his mailing list to receive updates on the next chapter,
as well as opportunities to receive advanced "work-in-progress" for
free.

Contact dogSolitude_9 for more details.

um... no offense meant, but this "independent graphic novelist"
is putting out some pretty mainstream fare...

If you're looking for something that's actually different from most
of the typical comic books out there- you know, something
intelligent and creative, well-written, groundbreaking...
something that's not anything whatsoever like an early-90's
image title- why don't you check out Paul Pope's stuff?

http://www.paulpope.com

or maybe James Kochalka?

http://www.indyworld.com/kochalka/

better yet- Andi Watson?

http://www.andiwatson.com

or Jim Mahfood?

http://www.40ozcomics.com

You'd have a better chance of making money in the comic book
industry if you decided to replicate these guys instead...
seriously... no one really liked that early-90's image crap
anyway...

I have some fairly old comics that appear to have no number or date on
the cover (probably from late 50's early 60's). How do I list them to
sell them?

What software to you use to track your comic inventory? Would anyone
be interested in a simple database I could write? It would be a simple
EXE using a flatfile db, you would not have to buy Access or any other
database.

Which comics are relatively rare? Are any particular numbers more
desireable? Like 1-10? 1-30?

Thanks. I'm just getting into selling comics.

Does the splash page at the beginning have any kind of volume numbers with dates, etc on it? Copyright and all that?

"For better or worse, you have been marked."

I personally use Comicbase 6. It works perfect for
the collecter and the shop-owner to keep track of
inventory.

Where can I find info on the value of comics? Say if they are near
mint, what would comic X be worth? Here is a short list of some of my
older comics. Note the one with the double cover (1985 GI Joe). It was
printed this way and I'm sure it is rare.
