Hey, I remember!!! Nam 66-67. USMC Scout/Sniper 5th
Marine Regiment. Operated between Chulai and Tamky.
Used M1D Sniper rifle left over from Korea. We didn't
have a sniper school at that time either. Started our
own school in Okinawa before going to Nam. Welcome
home. Semper Fi. Karl

I went to the Kokomo vietnam vet gathering. There was thousands
present its like a big stand down. The groups all have there
campfires. I think most all Divisons were present. The 25th Div
Wolfhounds were a little scarce this year they must be over in Iraq
looking for Saddam lol. Last year was a better turn out. One the
groups at the stage was the Van Dells a well know oldies group. Well
I'm gonna fade into the tree line. Take it easy

Currently on the market are two variations of the Automatic
rangefinding telescope, or ART, there had been the ART 1, and the
final version the ART II, the scopes for sale are versions of the ART
II with ballistic cams for diffrent calibers, based on bullet weight.
If you bought the tacticle model, selling for about $299.00 in The
Sportsman Guide, it is either a straight 10X scope, or if it was like
the eariler scopes a 3X9. It has a bracketing reticle, and once the
scope is zeroed for the caliber of your choice, and the proper cam
installed, all you have to do to become proficent is to practice with
consistant ammo. The sportsmans version is a 3X9, with cams for
hunting calibers, and a diffrent reticle. And sportsmans Guide has it
for about $269.00
Mitch
I don't think the units being sold are military over runs, as they
are probably made in china, to spec. And an original ART II in the
wooden case with the cams is about $3,000. Just consider that a
Unertl 10X USMC scope is $2,500. New and a US Optics 10X scope is
also about $2,500 new, if this was the same quality as the original
product the price shouldn't be bad at all.

The sprinfield M21 and M25 both are chambered for 7.62X51 /308
winchester/7.62 nato. They , depending on how ordered will shoot best
with either M118lr, or gm308m, GM308M2, or black hills 308 match in
any weight, regular or moly, or the hornady TAP ammo, or the
winchester ranger ammo. But once you find the ammo that the rifle is
most consistant with, don't change it around. If you've spent a lot
of money on the unit, then it could be a sub moa, but most likly it
will shoot just a little above 1 moa.

Making it a very expensive copy of an obsolete issue weapon, carried
to its max.

I seen the new movie out We Were Soldiers I like it think its the
best
one yet. I like the helicopter scenes specially when they wouldn't
touch down and troops had to jump remember that all to well. I think
we should have received jump pay. The jets comin down droppin bombs
also in the movie they had props droppin bombs only remember arvns
having the props. Then it was earlier than when we were there. I have
the jets droppin the bombs in my home movie but some of the quaility
was lost changing to vhs from 8mm. Well got to run
