Big question........on one hand you can use anything as a substrate as long as you have the correct glue. Purists like to use acid free paper or substrates....

Hit it with an acrylic varnish or sealer of some kind. I've found that to be useful when using tacky adhesives. I quit using Yes glue when I discovered it...
