Description

Old Foreign Coins of the the following regions: Latin America, France, Poland, & Rome. Generally this group applies to older foreign coins: e.g. Latin American and other foreign coins before about 1900. Also the history of the countries and of the coins is of interest. I have been a collector for 31 years (since I was 14) & will try to answer questions. This site is also linked with the webpage of the same name, e.g. www.coinsandhistory.com

This site is not to advertise on-line auctions/sales like EBay stuff but notices for regular (hardcopy) auctions are okay. The point of this group is to answer foreign coin questions.

The coin shown was acquired at Heritage's Fall 2007 auction. It's an 8 escudos of Bolivia, 1856 in choice unc.
