Dear Dave;
Great report! Yeah, I noticed that the fish in the Bend area werent going for dry stonefly patterns, either, even though the critters were thick on the bushes, in some spots.
That was last week, though and things are really warming up. Maybe the fish will get a little more aggressive when the water warms.
Tight lines! - v

Howdy folks,
Just joined the yahoo group so I thought I'd post a message....
I went down to the Maupin area on the 25th. The golden stones and salmon flies were
getting thick on the bushes (and trees, and my hair, and in my vest...). The fish weren't yet
keyed into the adults but the nymph fishing was excellent. I caught quite a few of the little
fellers, several in the 12-14" and a couple in the 16-18" range (two to be exact). I didn't stay
until dark so, they may be keying in to the adults later in the day.
Watch out for rattlers (saw 2) and ticks.
Anywho, just thought I'd share/brag.
David
