FRONT RANGE NORTHERN COLORADO
Douglas County
Yesterday, Glenn Walbek saw a BLACK VULTURE over the northwest corner of Castlewood Canyon State Park.  On 6/29, Stevens relocated BOBOLINK (Stevens 5/18) at the Winkler Ranch south of Castlewood Canyon State Park.  Stevens & Danka relocated AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS (Ehlmann, 6/22) along the Cheesman Canyon Trail from Hwy 126 to the Reservoir.  

Denver County
Yesterday, Cheryl Teuton relocated 2 COMMON LOON (Jones, 6/3) at Marston Reservoir.

Boulder County
Yesterday, Teuton relocated the KENTUCKY WARBLER (Andes, 6/5) and HOODED WARBLER (Kaplan, 5/18) at Gregory Canyon.  John Tumasonis relocated the male SCARLET TANAGER (Mihm Dunning, 5/27).  Yesterday, Teuton relocated the OVENBIRD and HOODED WARBLER (Nunes, 6/22) at Eldorado Mountain Open Space.  Tumasonis relocated BOBOLINK (Nunes, 6/10) at the Boulder Open Space along Cherryvale Road at S. Boulder Road.  Ted Floyd relocated an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER near Brainard Lake (fee area).  

On 7/2, Walter Szeliga relocated a LITTLE BLUE HERON (Zilly, 7/1) west of the pond just south of Boulder Creek and along White Rocks Trail.  Szeliga relocated a LEAST FLYCATCHER (Floyd, 6/28) on the White Rocks Trail in east Boulder.  Floyd also found a BARN OWL on 6/28.  
On 7/2, Szeliga relocated CASSIN'S SPARROWS (Kaempfer, 7/1) in the Open Space South of Lefthand Canyon Reservoir.

Jefferson County
Yesterday, Teuton relocated an INDIGO BUNTING at Bear Creek Regional Park.  Terry Michaels reported 1 or 2 OVENBIRDS at Roxborough State Park (above meadow up Carpenter Peak Trail).  On 6/28, Stevens reported AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKERS and a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL in Pike National Forest (see CoBus website for directions).  On 6/27, Matt Resone relocated WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKERS (Finch, 4/13) at Genesee Mountain Park.  Terry Michaels relocated an AMERICAN REDSTART along the S. Platte River, east of the Discovery Pavilion parking lot at Chatfield State Park.
 
On 6/26, Chris Sherry found an OVENBIRD at Fountain Valley Overlook, Roxborough State Park.  On 6/23, Sherry found 2 OVENBIRDS up High Grade Road (see website for directions).  Sherry found an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER at the picnic area across from the old school on Pleasant Park Road (up High Grade Road).  On 6/22, Merlynn Brown relocated a WILLIAMSON'S SAPSUCKER at Reynolds Park.  On 6/16, Merlynn Brown reported an adult male AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER 90 yards southwest of the decaying bridge along the Skipper Trail in Pike National Forest.  

Larimer County
On 7/2, Dixie Smith found an INDIGO BUNTING at Boxelder Creek along CR 15.  On 6/30, Jason Gold relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN at Medicine Bow Curve in Rocky Mountain National Park.  Gary Matthews reported a BROWN-CAPPED ROSY FINCH at the Lava Cliffs snow bank.  On 6/27, Chris Feeney relocated 3 FLAMMULATED OWL on Pennock Pass.  On 6/25, Feeney relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN (Tingley, 6/9) at Medicine Bow Curve in Rocky Mountain National Park.  On 6/19 a WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN was reported on the top of Rock Cut Trail.  Danka relocated an American Three-toed Woodpecker (Stevens, 6/11) on the east side of Chambers Lake.  

Arapahoe County
On 6/30, Kosten relocated 3 BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD (Stevens, 5/18) behind the ranger's office at Cherry Creek State Park.  On 6/27, Jim Nelson relocated a BLACK-CHINNED HUMMINGBIRD (Latona, 5/11) around the Carson Nature Center at South Platte Park.  On 6/26, Stevens relocated 2 BURROWING OWLS (defrowe) along Jewell Avenue between the Great Plains Park and E470.  

Adams County
On 6/30, Kosten & Ehlmann relocated several BURROWING OWL along the DIA Owl Loop. On 5/30, Kosten Counted 9+ BURROWING OWLS along the east side of Rocky Mountain Arsenal (Buckley road).

Clear Creek
On 6/27, Matt Resone relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN at Guanella Pass.  Resone relocated BROWN-CAPPED ROSY FINCHES at the northwest corner of Summit Lake, Mt Evans.  Phil Tizzard reported a WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN at mile 12, Mt Evans.  On 6/26, Sherry saw a WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN (Sherry, 6/22) at the first switchback up from Summit Lake, Mt Evans, see directions.  On 6/7, Terry Michaels relocated WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN (Stevens, 6/5) at the eastern side of the Mt. Evans Parking Lot.  On 6/26, Tizzard relocated a WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN up the western trail at Loveland Pass.

Huerfano County
On 6/26, Beverly Jensen relocated a WHITE-WINGED DOVE in La Veta.  On 6/21, Polly Neldner reported a BURROWING OWL along the Valley Road Cutoff to La Veta.

Elbert County
On 6/25, Stevens reported DICKCISSEL along Elbert Road at 4.1 miles south of Highway 86.  Stevens also reported one (1) Bobolink.

Weld County
On 6/22, Keirn relocated AMERICAN BITTERN at Lower Latham Reservoir (CR 48).  On 6/19, Stevens relocated MOUNTAIN PLOVER at: the field along CR 96 at 1.7 miles west of CR 77; and north of CR 94 & CR 61. On 5/14, Stevens relocated Mountain Plover at the southeast corner of Hwy 14 & CR 51; at CR 90 & CR 51. On 6/19, Stevens relocated BURROWING OWL: northeast corner of Hwy 14 & CR 51; at CR 90 & CR 51.

SOUTHEASTERN COLORADO
Lincoln County
On 6/24, Stevens and Danka saw a SHORT-EARED OWL at the southwest corner of Karval Reservoir Wildlife Area.

Cheyenne County
On 5/6, Green relocated BURROWING OWLS (Stevens, 4/18) at mile marker 164 of Hwy 385 (a few miles south of Kit Carson County).

NORTHEASTERN COLORADO
Morgan County
On 6/23, Stevens and Danka relocated RED-BELLIED WOODPECKERS and an EASTERN SCREECH-OWL (Stevens, 1/22) at Brush Wildlife Area.

Sedgwick County
On 6/22, Stevens reported At Sedgwick Bar Wildlife Area, a GREAT CRESTED FLYCATCHER and 2 EASTERN BLUEBIRD; At Pony Express Wildlife Area, RED-BELLIED WOODPECKER; At Julesburg Wayside Rest Stop, BALTIMORE ORIOLE and CHIMNEY SWIFT; At DePoorter Lake, a FIELD SPARROW.  On 6/21, Stevens relocated 2 Yellow-billed Cuckoo (Danka, 6/16) at Julesburg Wildlife Area.  Stevens found a male NORTHERN CARDINAL at the southwest corner of Ovid.

Logan/Sedgwick Counties
On 6/20, Stevens found a YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO at the northern woods at Jumbo Reservoir.  On 6/14, Danka relocated a Barn Owl at the eastern campgrounds at Jumbo Reservoir.

MOUNTAINS AND WESTERN COLORADO
Fremont County
Yesterday, Moss relocated an EASTERN PHOEBE (Green, 5/3) at the eastern end of the Arkansas Riverwalk in Canon City.  On 7/2, Moss reported a BLACK PHOEBE at Pathfinder Regional Park.  Moss reported 4 BLACK PHOEBE at Florence River Park.  On 7/1, John Drummond reported LEWIS'S WOODPECKERS along CR 2 at 2.5 miles West of CR 21.  Drummond reported PINYON JAYS there on 6/28.  On 6/8, Luke relocated RUFOUS-CROWNED SPARROW at Tunnel Drive in Canon City.

Summit County
On 7/2, Roger Danka reported from the A.M. Bailey Bird Sanctuary: AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER, WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN and NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL.  On 7/1, Stevens reported 2 BOREAL OWL (1 seen, 1 heard) at the upper end of Saint Johns Trail.  Stevens reported a NORTHERN PYGMY-OWL 1/2 mile up the Hunkidori Trail.  On 6/30, Stevens found heard 2 NORTHERN PYGMY-OWLS 3/4 mile up the Argentine Pass trail.

Lake County
On 7/2, Dick Filby reported an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER at mile marker 53 of Independence Pass.  Filby found a WHITE-TAILED PTARMIGAN on the hillside 1/2 mile north of the Independence Pass summit.

La Plata County
On 7/1, Jerry Petrosky relocated ACORN WOODPECKER at Wildcat Canyon.

Montezuma County
On 6/30, Weston relocated LUCY'S WARBLERS and reported a SUMMER TANAGER at Yellow Jacket Canyon.

Pitkin County
On 6/30, Dick Filby reported BLACK SWIFTS flying over the ridge between Snowmass and Old Snowmass.

Montrose County
On 6/28, Missy Siders reported a DUSKY GROUSE along the Ouray Loop (sites 13 & 14) at Silver Jack Campground.  On 6/19, Coen Dexter relocated 2 LESSER NIGHTHAWK (Dexter, 5/31) at the Nucla Sewer Ponds.  On 5/31, Ehlmann found a BLACK PHOEBE at Uravan.

Ouray County
On 6/26, Petrosky relocated BLACK SWIFT (Weston, 6/4) at Box Canyon.

Gunnison County
On 6/26, Jason Beason reported 2 LEAST FLYCATCHER at the McCabe Wetlands in Gunnison.  On 6/25, Weston relocated DUSKY GROUSE along the south rim drive at Black Canyon of Gunnison National Park.  On 6/24, Petrosky reported GUNNISON SAGE-GROUSE at CR 38 & CR 38A.  Petrosky reported 2 LEAST FLYCATCHERS and relocated a Veery (Bradley, 6/15) at the Neversink Trail west of Gunnison.  On 6/23, Petrosky reported an AMERICAN THREE-TOED WOODPECKER at the View Campgrounds at Taylor Park Reservoir.

Chaffee County
On 6/23, Petrosky relocated LEWIS'S WOODPECKER at Brookdale Avenue & N. Pleasant Avenue in Buena Vista.

Delta County
On 6/22, Evelyn Horn reported a WILLET at Fruitgrower's Reservoir.  On 6/21, Dan Garrison reported 2 possible Least Tern at Fruitgrower's Reservoir.  On 6/12, Harold Gosse reported 12 LESSER NIGHTHAWKS flying over Redlands Mesa (halfway between Cedaredge and Hotchkiss.  Jason Beason reported a COMMON BLACK-HAWK flying over Hotchkiss.  It was not relocated later in the day.  On 6/11, Weston relocated BLACK PHOEBE & CHUKAR at Escalante Canyon.  On 5/26, Andrea Robinsong reported from Fruitgrower's Reservoir: 2 American Bittern & LEWIS'S WOODPECKER below/west of Fruitgrower's Reservoir.

Jackson County
On 6/17, Stevens and all relocated BOREAL OWLS on Cameron Pass.  See CoBus website for directions.  Stevens relocated BROWN-CAPPED ROSY FINCHES (Stevens, 6/11) at the Colorado State Forest Visitor's Center feeders.  

Mesa County
On 6/10, Weston relocated FLAMMULATED OWL (Robinsong, 5/9) on the Uncompahgre Plateau.  On 6/8, Gary Weston relocated SCOTT'S ORIOLES (Carpenter 5/9) at Brewster's Ridge and north of Rabbit Valley (Carpenter, 5/9). On 6/1, GRACE'S WARBLERS were found near Carson's Hole. On 5/11, Leo Miller ran into 8+ CHUKAR at Coal Canyon (Cameo). On 5/10, Carpenter found 2 NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWLS and 7 BOREAL OWLS on the Grand Mesa (see CoBus website for directions).

Garfield County
On 6/9, Weston relocated FLAMMULATED OWLS (Stevens, 6/2) on Douglas Pass.
