Welcome to the 2005-2006 school year! -
169 School Days and 1002 School Hours this Year!
We are pleased that our enrollment in both childcare and school has increased - in fact, there are waiting lists in some rooms in both settings. We have a new playground at the childcare with lots of new toys and new track to ride our little bikes on. It's almost like the Indy 500. It was a great summer with our new playground which provided us with a great source of physical activity. Our next big project is the upgrading of our kitchen facility. The plans are ready and we have begun the process of raising the funds needed for this project, which includes getting new equipment and making it an industrial kitchen.
On September 8th, we had a ceremony honoring Corporal. James Moore who lost his life in Iraq. We planted three trees. One was placed at the school and two at the childcare. A memorial plaque was installed on the childcare playground with the two trees.
We have three new teachers in the school this year. Pat Esparza, a retired teacher, not quite ready to quit teaching, but loving to teach, has taken on the task of our K-4 class. Janet Parrott substituted some last year in our Primary Class; she is now the full-time teacher for this age group. Janet brings new energy and a great love and concern for each child. Cheryle Howard, our new Intermediate teacher, brings a calm firmness that gains the respect of her students. Cheryle teacher Math and Science to Intermediate and Middle School Students. All of our teachers are state certified and have credentials in their respective areas.
We are a family here at Cobb Street. There are many rewards for what we do. At our graduation last spring, many of our former students returned to celebrate with us. They love to come back; we love seeing and keeping in touch with each one of them.
We look forward to a great year here at Cobb Street.
Welcome to the Cobb Street School Message Boards! While this is a "work in progress", The hope is that this space can be a place where parents and school staff
