Welcome to the Chesapeake and Ohio Towpath group!

The C&O towpath is a 184 mile unpaved path along Maryland's Potomac River valley. The entire towpath is located within the C&O Canal National Historic Park.

This group discusses all types of activities within the park. One of the more popular activities is bicycling.

Check Cumberland Trail Connections - in Cumberland MD.   We used them to shuttle us last year to get to Pittsburgh when we rode our own bikes Pitts to DC. I

Renting 2 bikes for that period of time is going to be enormously expensive. It would be far cheaper to buy a used bike and then sell it or just donate it
