Welcome to the Chesapeake and Ohio Towpath group!

The C&O towpath is a 184 mile unpaved path along Maryland's Potomac River valley. The entire towpath is located within the C&O Canal National Historic Park.

This group discusses all types of activities within the park. One of the more popular activities is bicycling.

It sounds like a lot of money for something that that isn't all that bad and won't have a big economic impact, except maybe with some very short term jobs. I

I am a little skeptical of this resurfacing. I did a round trip on the C&O in early September and some of the most jarring sections of the path are the ones
