Central Maine Self-Learners is an inclusive homeschool group for families in central Maine who live within an approximate 30 mile radius of Augusta. CMSL serves as a network for homeschooling families to engage in events, field trips and activities with other homeschooling families in our area. Families who join our group share the common desire to interact with other homeschoolers for field trips, activities and other events. Families stay networked with one another through this private online CMSL Yahoo Group. All activities and field trips are initiated and organized by the families in the group. Family participation and involvement is crucial to the group but never mandatory.

We are an inclusive group, meaning you can join regardless of why you have chosen to homeschool. We are not a religious homeschool group and are not affiliated with any church or other religious organization. We are a diverse group of families who homeschool for a variety of reasons including religious, academic and philosophical. Family members represent a wide range of approaches to learning, and our group does not endorse any specific philosophy of education except to promote respect for diversity and individual choice.
