This group is for those researching their Clouston family connections.

The Clouston family originate in the Orkney Islands in Scotland and can be traced back to Viking times.

The picture on the right shows the Clouston Family Crest in the stained glass window in St Magnus Cathedral. The crest is a silver stags head on a blue background.

In 1948 J. Storer Clouston, a famous author, wrote a book called The Family of Clouston. This book documents the roots of the family in Viking times through to stories of those who worked for the Hudson Bay Company and is a good starting point for research. The book was reprinted by Dane Clouston in 2002 and copies are still available through The Orcadian Bookshop (http://www.orcadian.co.uk/books/index.html) priced £25 plus postage and packing.
