Re: [cleancairo] MobiNil Supports "Clean Up The World 2004" Campaign

Hi Rami,

This seems to be a great lead. Do u know how to contact them?

Unfortunately, the dates in the table are old. I wish we had the table a little earlier so that we could do something.

MobiNil is supporting "Clean Up the World 2004" event
which will take place throughout Egypt starting from
Sunday September 19 till Thursday September 23, 2004.
The event is designed to focus international attention
on the problems of garbage and solid wastes that are
affecting the state of the world’s environment.

"Clean Up the World 2004" has grown from the simple
suggestion of an international clean up to the reality
of a major annual environmental campaign. "Clean Up
the World 2003" was implemented in more than 110
countries with the participation of more than 40
million volunteers.

The main objective of the proposed campaign is
focusing on empowering the community to get their
rights for a cleaner and healthier place to live. The
volunteers work together in their own community to
carry out local clean up activities, uniting with
like-minded groups through the globe in a massive
worldwide clean up of the natural environment.

THE "CLEAN UP THE WORLD 2004" ACTION PLAN:

* Environment awareness through organizing of
workshops for the participating youths on Solid Waste
Management.
* Clean-up activities by removing solid wasters from
the chosen areas.
* Tree planting activities in the cleaned areas.

DID YOU KNOW THAT!
Arab Office for Youth and Environment [AOYE] has been
the only Egyptian representative in participating in
the "Clean Up the World" campaign since its
establishment in September 1993. AOYE has targeted
over the years  many suffering districts all over
Egypt. This year, AOYE has chosen and invited all the
governorates of Egypt to participate in the campaign
to tackle nationally the mounting environmental
problems through the activities proposed under the
"Clean Up the World" international campaign.

Dear Amal, The AOYE link is: www.aoye.org. You'll find there how to contact them. I think it's a good beginning point. The campaign still had 2 days left. ...
