Professor Doumas, Emeritus Professor of Archaeology, University of Athens, will
be here,
on the Berkeley campus, the first week of May to lecture about his amazing
archaeological
site and excavation of Akrotiri on Santorini. The lectures are free and open to
the public.
His visit and lecture series is sponsored by the Onassis Foundation and should
be very
interesting and full of fascinating images of the ancient Cycladic culture and
site destroyed
by the volcanic eruption of Thera.
