Attachment Parenting in the Cincinnati and surrounding areas- who would like to chat and meet for regular weekday PLAYDATES, family outings and monthly evening FAMILY PLAYDATES.
What is AP ?
Cincinnati Attached Parents is a
playgroup started in
late summer 2003. We are looking for like-minded parents who choose attachment parenting.
Attachment Parents believe in respecting, and fascilatating an environment to create attachment with their child. However AP is not about permissive child rearing, either.
This can include:but please don't think of this as a list...
Gentleness, kindness, and respect for all family members
Positive discipline instead of spanking,
extended breastfeeding,
babywearing,
family bed/co-sleeping
responding to babie's/children's needs
without fear of spoiling
(Hold your crying baby !!!)
We believe that a child's feelings are just as real as an adult's feelings are! We SCREEN all members for SECURITY, so please promptly respond to the security questions that will be emailed to you when you request membership.(However always be cautious in meeting ANYONE via the internet this is why we choose PUBLIC PLACES for playdates)
NOTE:
This group was started in the spirit of being a support group for parents who choose attachment parenting. Just like in any support group, it works best if all members feel safe. In the best interest of having a safe haven for ALL members, We expect that members avoid inflaming debates and/or religious/politically inflaming topics. If you feel the need to express your viewpoint on politics/religion there are other chat groups specifically for that. Let's celebrate and focus on the commonality we all share in the parenting choices that we have made/are making. NOTE: This group moderates all NEW member posts
