Mason Temple

Built during WWII in 1940, it was a benchmark effort for a group of Black Americans. Construction materials, especially steel, were extremely hard to get; nevertheless, the task was completed making it the largest, black-owned church auditorium in America.

This historic church auditorium has been a focal point for many dignitaries including Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. who gave his final "Mountain Top" speech at this pulpit. In 1993, the President of the United States, Bill Clinton, at the 86th National Holy Convocation, gave a most powerful address (known as the "Memphis Speech"). Mason Temple has a seating capacity of 7,500.

Visit C.O.G.I.C. Videos. COGIC Videos has been blessed to capture the history and rich heritage of the Church of God in Christ on video tape. You can bring the power and anointing of the national conferences to your home or church. The prayers, praise, singing, teaching, and preaching on these tapes will bring life, hope and restorations to your soul. http://www.stjohnscogic.org/cogic_video.htm
