Congratulations to the Clarksburg boys' track team for capturing the Montgomery County Championship today at Walter Johnson HS.  The Coyotes weathered the rain and wet conditions to post 85 total points, which tied the team with Quince Orchard.  This is the second county championship in boys' track in school history (2008).

Congratulations to our coaching staff and to our student-athletes!

Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, May 15th at 7:00PM for the final meeting of the CHS PTSA this school year. We will be electing new officers for the 2012-2013 school year at this meeting.

The PTSA has been very busy this year advocating for our school, working to raise funds to help our students and teachers, planning and delivering the highlight of our year, Post Prom, and collaborating with other school groups to coordinate the development and construction of the new CHS Marquis.

We look forward to seeing you at this meeting and hope that after hearing all this great news that you will want to be a member of our leadership team, either on the board or as a committee chair, as we continue to make a difference for the students in our community.

Dear Clarksburg High School Families,

I am writing to inform you that, for the first time in our history, graduation will be webcast live on June 1, 2012.  This technological innovation will allow family and friends unable to attend the event in person, to experience the joy of commencement exercises via the internet.  Directions explaining how one will be able to connect on-line are posted on our website:  www.montgomeryschoolsmd.org/schools/clarksburghs

In order to participate in this webinar, please log in to the session by clicking on the link that is provided.  You will be prompted for your name and email address. The password for this webinar is “chs”.  After you have entered your name and password, click "Join Now."  Please know that you will be allowed to join the webinar beginning at 12:45 even though the start time is 1:00.

Once you are in the WebEx environment, you will need to access the audio for the webinar.  An Audio Conference pop-up window should appear in the middle of your screen. If not, on the Menu Bar at the top of the window, select “Audio”.  Then, select "Join Audio Conference” and “Use Computer Headset”. Click on "Call Using Computer".  You should then be able to hear the audio portion of the webinar via your computer speakers or computer headset (if you are using one).

If, at any time, you are having technical difficulties, direct your concerns to the chat.  Look for answers to technical issues in the chat as well.  If you should get disconnected from the webinar or the audio conference, please disconnect and then rejoin by repeating the directions listed.

The Clarksburg High School PTSA is still seeking candidates for Treasurer and Secretary for the  2012-2013 school year.

This is a great opportunity to join a team of dedicated volunteers who are active on many school issues.  This is a win-win situation:  you gain much more access and insight to the inner workings of your child's school, and the school benefits greatly from your involvement.  Join us!

If you have any questions about either position, please contact Nominating Committee Chair Melane Kinney Hoffmann at melanekhoffmann@... or 301-972-6126.
