Climate Treaty Reparations Would Cost $50-$200 Billion Per Year
By Howard Richman & Raymond Richman

Here's a quiz. What's the worst thing on the table at the U.N. Climate Control
Conference in Copenhagen from December 7 to December 18? If you guessed
cap-and-tax, you're wrong. The reparations could be much, much worse.

The draft of the treaty encompasses 181 pages and recites that it shall be the
obligation of developed countries (Europe, United States, Japan, Australia,
etc.) to pay the developing countries (China, India, Africa, etc.) huge
reparations in the form of annual sums to erase poverty and to share technology.
Australian lawyer Janet Albrechtsen explains the most recent draft of the
treaty:

     Clause after complicated clause sets out the requirement that developed
countries such as Australia pay their "adaptation debt" to developing countries.
Clause 33 on page 39 says that by 2020 the scale of financial flows to support
adaptation in developing countries must be at least $US67 billion ($73bn), or in
the range of $US70bn to $US140bn a year.

     How developed countries will pay is far from clear. The draft text sets out
various alternatives, including Option 7 on page 135, which provides for "a
(global) levy of 2 per cent on international financial market (monetary)
transactions to Annex I Parties". This means industrialized countries such as
Australia, if we sign.


In the behind-the-scenes negotiations, the developed countries have already
agreed to pay $167 billion per year, but the developing countries are holding
out for $400 billion per year, according to BusinessGreen.com:

     Developing nations ... are insisting on a minimum of 242bn [$400 billion]
per annum by 2020 to help them fight global warming, compared with the developed
world's offer of only 100bn [$167 billion] per year.


It is not clear what share will come from the United States. But based upon the
totals cited by BusinessGreen, it can be safely assumed that Obama will
volunteer somewhere between $50 and $200 billion per year by 2020 as the U.S.
share.

The treaty has been complicated by the "Climategate" scandal, which gives
additional evidence of the unscientific behavior of the proponents of reducing
carbon dioxide emissions, which is the backbone of the treaty.

The scientific consensus that once backed the man-made global warming theory has
disappeared, and a new theory, based upon cosmic rays and solar activity, is
proving to be much more predictive of climate change -- with carbon dioxide
playing a minor role, if any. If the science backing the Copenhagen treaty is
wrong, we shall discover in ten to fifty years that the world community has
wasted tens of trillions of dollars.

Moreover, the distribution of the benefits and costs of global warming is very
uncertain. Global warming would benefit colder countries while harming coastal
countries. And carbon dioxide is in general a great help to plant life and
agricultural production in general.

The costs of the treaty, however, are far clearer. The largest share of the
burden would be borne by the United States. Students of history may remember
that the reparations forced upon Germany by the victors of World War I resulted
in hyperinflation, destroyed the German middle class, and eventually brought
Adolf Hitler to power, causing World War II. Economist John Maynard Keynes
predicted this disaster at the time. In a 1919 paper ("The Capacity of Germany
to Pay Reparations") he correctly predicted:

     The policy of reducing Germany to servitude for a generation, of degrading
the lives of millions of human beings, and of depriving a whole nation of
happiness should be abhorrent and detestable -- abhorrent and detestable, even
if it were possible, even if it enriched ourselves, even if it did not sow the
decay of the whole civilized life of Europe. ...


Keynes was arguing that Germany would not be able to pay the reparations because
it would not have the necessary surplus of exports over imports. Germany had an
excess of imports in the years just before World War I, not an excess of
exports. Not only that, but it had lost raw materials resources in the peace
treaty that were needed for its iron goods exports, and its merchant marine and
manpower had just been decimated by the war. Keynes was simply pointing out that
Germany could not afford to pay the reparations.

America is in a similar position. We have had a huge and growing excess of
imports over exports for more than a decade. Our manufacturing exports have
already been compromised by the currency manipulations of developing countries
and by their policies of keeping out American products through one pretext or
another. For example, both China and India have labeled their automobile sectors
as "strategic sectors" so that they can keep out American-produced vehicles
through the high tariffs permitted by WTO rules. Using this pretext, China also
applies tariffs to American auto parts, motorcycles, and mining machinery.

China will continue to manipulate the dollar-yuan exchange rate to ensure that
new solar panel and windmill factories will be located in China and not the
United States. They have already ensured that Chinese-made windmills and solar
panels will not contain many American-made parts.

Basically, what this Copenhagen treaty proposes is that the United States go
ever further in debt to China, selling China our remaining assets so that we can
pay reparations to the developing countries. The receiving countries will in
turn be able to buy windmills and solar panels from China.

The result would greatly accelerate the present trends. We would become a nation
unable to get out of debt, even with the falling dollar. We would stop being an
"ownership society" and become, in the words of Warren Buffett, a "sharecropper
society."

President Obama will pull out all the stops to get the treaty negotiated in
Copenhagen next week and ratified in 2010 by the U.S. Senate. He knows that time
is against him. Given time, more and more Americans will discover the new
scientific realities. Moreover, his huge Democratic Party majority in the Senate
will likely disappear in November 2010, and he may never again get another
chance to get the two-thirds vote needed to ratify it.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,

My name is Brian Lim and  friend of Joseph Lee.

My wife Susan and I would like to ask  you for your
prayers. Our son JD (John-David) was born prematurely
at 26 weeks of pregnancy.  He is currently in neonatal
intensive care unit in LA and will be there for about  2-3
months.  During that time, we'd like to ask you to join
us in uplifting him to the Lord.  We'll send regular
updates and prayer  requests on his behalf.  We
are eternally grateful for every  prayer.

JD is doing pretty well considering his prematurity,  but
just had surgery done this week to close his ductus
arteriosus (which is a blood vessel connecting his aorta
and lung).   Also, there is a blood clot in JD's IVC (inferior
vena cava), which is the largest vein in the body.  Please
pray for quick recovery from his surgery and that this clot
will resolve on its own without causing any complications.

Thank you so much for your prayers.  We will send an
update very soon.

The massacre at Fort Hood last week is the perfect apotheosis of the liberal
victimology described in my book "Guilty: Liberal 'Victims' and Their
Assault on

According to witnesses, Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan entered a medical facility at
Fort Hood, prayed briefly, then shouted "Allahu akbar" before he began
gunning down American troops. Now I don't know which to be more afraid of:
Muslims or government-run health-care systems.

President Obama honored the victims by immediately warning Americans not to
"jump to conclusions"  namely, the obvious conclusion that the attack was
an act of Islamic terrorism. As conclusions go, it wasn't much of a jump.

But the mainstream media waited for no information  indeed actively avoided
learning any information  before leaping to the far less obvious conclusion
that the suspect's mass murder was set off by "stress."

The day after the slaughter, the New York Times ran one editorial and two of
three op-eds asserting as much  which was at least one more than the Times
usually runs about psycho-killer soldiers going on rampages.

Two days after the mass shooting, the Times' laughably predictable headlines
about the Fort Hood bloodbath were:

"Preliminary Inquiry Finds No Link to Terror Plot"

"Painful Stories Take a Toll on Military Therapists"

"When Soldiers' Minds Snap"

The Los Angeles Times jumped to the exact same conclusion, running an
article on the massacre titled: "Fort Hood Tragedy Rocks Military as It
Grapples With Mental Health Issues." Time magazine followed suit, posting an
article titled: "Stresses at Fort Hood Were Likely Intense for Hasan."

Inasmuch as Maj. Hasan had never been deployed overseas, much less seen
combat, liberals seem to have discovered the first recorded case of
"pre-traumatic stress syndrome."

Their point was: The real victim of Fort Hood was Maj. Hasan. Indeed, all
Muslims were the victims that day.

The media quickly set to work assembling lachrymose accounts of taunts Hasan
had been subjected to in the military for being a Muslim, the most harrowing
of which seems to have been his car being keyed at his off-base apartment
complex.

I suppose we should be relieved that liberals weren't claiming Hasan snapped
because of the dimming prospects for a health-care bill by the end of the
year.

The evidence for the manifestly obvious conclusion we were supposed to avoid
jumping to is rather more extensive.

According to numerous eyewitness accounts, Hasan denounced the "war on
terror" as a war against Islam, said Muslims should attack Americans in
retaliation for the war in Iraq, defended suicide bombers and said he was
"happy" when a Muslim murdered a soldier at a military recruiting center in
Arkansas earlier this year.

Stranger still, he wasn't auditioning for his own show on MSNBC when he made
these statements.

Hasan shared a "spiritual adviser" with two of the Sept. 11 hijackers, Imam
Anwar al-Awlaki, whose unseemly enthusiasm for jihad got him banned from
speaking in Britain, even by video link.

A few years ago, Hasan delivered an hour-long PowerPoint lecture to an
audience of doctors at Walter Reed Army Medical Center, arguing that
non-Muslims should be beheaded and have burning oil poured down their
throats.

He had tried to contact al-Qaida, and at least one U.S. intelligence
official says the Army knew it.

Despite being well aware of Hasan's disturbing views and conduct, the Army
did nothing.

Far less offensive speech has been grounds for discipline or even removal
from duties in the military. In the aftermath of the Tailhook scandal, for
example, two Navy officers were reprimanded and reassigned after putting up
a sign with the words of a nursery rhyme altered to include a vulgar sexual
reference to liberal congresswoman Patricia Schroeder.

But a Muslim Army doctor can go around a military installation somberly
advocating the beheading of infidels, and the girls running the military
treat him like he's Nicole Kidman and they're press junket reporters.

The Army's top brass, Gen. George Casey, responded to the military's
shocking decision to keep a terrorist-sympathizing Muslim in the Army by
announcing: "Our diversity ... is a strength." And I thought gays couldn't
openly serve in the military.

On Sept. 11, 2001, Muslims moved to the top of liberals' victim pantheon on
the basis of having slaughtered 3,000 Americans. Muslims were "victims" of
Americans' displeasure with them for the biggest terrorist attack in world
history. The only American deserving of more coddling than a Muslim is the
first African-American president.

So, now any dyspeptic expression toward a Muslim is grounds for calling in a

Annually we celebrate Veteran's Day in tribute to those who are willing to
give their all, so that we live in freedom.

As I get older, I appreciate life and freedom more than when I was younger.
  With all of the problems that we currently face, we cannot lose sight of
the great sacrifices made by our veterans.  There is no newspaper article,
no parade, and no television special that can hardly say thank you well
enough to someone who risks so much for the benefit of others.

Too often in our political world, the word "sacrifice" is misused to
describe what one group should be willing do to help or to placate another
group.  This call to a "sacrifice of values" has been used for years now to
undermine the very freedoms for which our veterans and active military have
given so much to maintain.  By contrast, most of us need not look far to a
friend, family member, or neighbor to find someone who embodies true
"sacrifice" in protecting the freedoms that we have today.

In speaking with those who have served, not one of them really expects any
special recognition, but I do hear consistently three things that our
veterans would like to see from their fellow countrymen and women.

1.  Stop giving away the freedoms that were achieved with the loss of so
many dedicated veterans.  Our individual rights, our states' rights, and our
national sovereignty are being weakened with no end in sight.

2.  Teach our children about heroes, true sacrifice, the Constitution, and
the history of our nation.  If our children are not taught to love our
nation, then they will be part of its destruction when the baton is passed
to them.

3.  The next time that you see someone on active duty in the mall or the
airport, talk to them, shake their hand, and ask them about their home town,
their family, and their service.  Then, look them square in the eye and
thank them for their service to your family and to our nation.  They need to
know that we care about them, that we support their efforts, and that we
appreciate their service.

These three items are not much to ask, especially considering what our
veterans have given to us.  Speaking with veterans and active military is
inspiring, as each one you meet is so focused on their duty.  It is also
worthwhile for us all to put faces on those who are protecting our freedoms,
as a reminder that real people, not just numbers, are at risk.

To all who have served and to all who have lost someone who served, I will
show my gratitude for your sacrifice by my commitment to do these three
things.  I hope that many others will do likewise.

My name is Brian Lim and  friend of Joseph Lee.


My wife Susan and I would like to ask  you for your
prayers. Our son JD (John-David) was born prematurely
at 26 weeks of pregnancy.  He is currently in neonatal
intensive care unit in LA and will be there for about  2-3
months.  During that time, we'd like to ask you to join
us in uplifting him to the Lord.  We'll send regular
updates and prayer  requests on his behalf.  We
are eternally grateful for every  prayer.


JD is doing pretty well considering his prematurity,  but
just had surgery done this week to close his ductus
arteriosus (which is a blood vessel connecting his aorta
and lung).   Also, there is a blood clot in JD's IVC (inferior
vena cava), which is the largest vein in the body.  Please
pray for quick recovery from his surgery and that this clot
will resolve on its own without causing any complications.



Thank you so much for your prayers.  We will send an
update very soon.

Republican Party supporters, according to a poll by Angus Reid Public Opinion.
47 per cent of GOP voters think Palin would be a good president.
 
Palin is tied for second place with former New York mayor Rudy Giuliani. Former
Arkansas governor Mike Huckabee is the preferred candidate with 49 per cent.
 
Former state secretary Condoleezza Rice is fourth with 37 per cent, followed by
former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney with 32 per cent, former House speaker
Newt Gingrich with 28 per cent, and Texas congressman Ron Paul with 24 per cent.
Support is lower for current Louisiana governor Bobby Jindal, current Minnesota

Amongst the general population, Giuliani leads with 32 per cent, followed by

In American elections, candidates require 270 votes in the Electoral College to
win the White House. In November 2008, Democratic nominee Barack Obama secured a

Last month, Palin said in a televised interview that a run for the presidency in
2012 is "not on my radar screen right now." Huckabee discussed his own chances,

surely you can see how we feel when Obama and the UN both tell theJews they
cannot build in the city of Jerusalem or live in Judea or Samaria . To take it
a step further, they cannot continue to have babies,for there can be no
'natural growth' in their present neighbourhood. I know that is putting things
in very simple terms, but in fact that is exactly what is happening here in
Israel . The Arabs. who call themselves "Palestinians", shelled our civilian
population with missiles and rockets for 8 long years -terrorizing the entire
population.Yet our weak leaders were so afraidof upsetting the USA by fighting
back thatthey waiteduntil therewassufficient pressure from the Israeli
population toforce them to retaliate. [And, even then, taking every possible
precaution not to
  kill civilians -whilst having to fight an enemy that chooses to hide behind
their women and children,hoping that some will be killed thusallowing the
media to bring down the wrath of the world upon the IDF. They do this knowing
that they have the full force of the UN behind them, and theendorsementof the
European leaders nowterrified of offending their Islamic constituents.

Consider the mental pressure we suffer here in Israelknowing that Hezbollah and
Hamas are being supplied with weapons by Iran for the next war, and hearing
Syria saying daily that they will take back the Golan by military force - that
they have missiles capable of reaching Tel-Aviv and Jerusalem attached with
Chemical and Biological warheads. Add to that the knowledge that Syria is,and
has been,building secret nuclear plants with the help of Russia and North Korea
.

For the past two years Russia has been moving warships toa Syrian Port just
north of Israel, putting them in easy striking range of Tel-Aviv. At the same
time Egypt has been completely re-armed thanks to the USA. They have F-16,
F-15's and long range artillery and are daily trying to figure out ways to move
them closer into the Sinai Desert nearer Israel . As you know, Israel has a
peace treaty with both Jordan and Egypt. It would, however, be very foolish to
think they will not join in with the rest of the Arab world when the war
begins. They would be afraid not to simply because if the Arabs were
victorious, they would be the next targetbecause the whole Arab world would
turn on them. Egypt has long memoriesof the 1967 and 1973 wars -and they seek
revenge.

It's not easy to figure Turkey out. The Turkish people don't want any war, they
don't want any of the Arab style of Islam, and from the many contacts I have
there it is easy to determine that they are not in favour of their Government
kissing up to Iran and Syria . The Turkish Military has always been
secular,and has in the past held the religious politicians back from forcing
fanatical Islam on the people. There are however, many indications that the
Turkish military is nowleaning more towards the Islamic point of view, and that
is very dangerous for the Turkish people -and the world. The most troubling
development lately has been the chilling ofrelations between Israel and Turkey
. Keep in mind Ezekiel 38:5-6 where you read of Togarmah being one of the five
countries that will join in the fatalfight against Israel in the 'latter days'.
Togarmah was a grandson of Noah who settled in what is today called Turkey .

You must know as I do, that end time events seem to be rushingin uponus. When
you consider what is happening in the US , there is only one way Obama could
have been elected, and we both know that reason is to bring judgementupon the
US -and it is coming quickly. Be prepared. [Gen 12:3].

There is more than enough reason for us to be concerned about our loved ones and
their salvation, as well as their welfare. But the first thing you have to
consider is your own relationship with the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob
because no one can make that decision for you.It is between you and God.

You might ask the question -as I have many times - how will this Ministry
rescue Jews when along with the global insanity and wars the world will once
again be blaming the Jews and another Holocaust is all but certain? The answer
I alwaysgive isthatmy only concern is to be about the Father's business
andto be obedient and to keep my eyes on the things God has appointed unto me.
So my answer to you is the same; if God has called you to this Ministry that
will also be your answer. God willing,we will succeed in our efforts to save
Jewish lives.It is now up to us to be diligent and prepare as best we can and
itwill takeobedience from each of us, for much is needed.

Pray for the peace of Jerusalem for our son Joel and all the IDF soldiers. Pray
for this Ministry and your part in it.

I have read the entire text of proposed House Bill 3200: The
Affordable Health Care Choices Act of 2009. I studied it with
emphasis from my area of expertise, constitutional law.

I was frankly concerned that parts of the proposed law that
were being discussed might be unconstitutional. What I found
was far worse than what I had heard or expected.

To begin with, much of what has been said about the law and
its implications is in fact true, despite what the Democrats and
the media are saying. The law does provide for rationing of
health care, particularly where senior citizens and other
classes of citizens are involved, free health care for illegal
immigrants, free abortion services, and probably forced
participation in abortions by members of the medical
profession.

The Bill will also eventually force private insurance
companies out of business and put everyone into a
government run system. All decisions about personal health
care will ultimately be made by federal bureaucrats and most
of them will not be health care professionals.

Hospital admissions, payments to physicians, and allocations
of necessary medical devices will be strictly controlled.

However, as scary as all of that is, it just scratches the surface.
In fact, I have concluded that this legislation really has no
intention of providing affordable health care choices. Instead
it is a convenient cover for the most massive transfer of power
to the Executive Branch of government that has ever occurred,
or even been contemplated. If this law or a similar one is
adopted, major portions of the Constitution of the United
States will effectively have been destroyed.

The first thing to go will be the masterfully crafted balance of
power between the Executive, Legislative, and Judicial
branches of the U.S. Government. The Congress will be
transferring to the Obama Administration authority in a
number of different areas over the lives of the American
people and the businesses they own. The irony is that the
Congress doesn't have any authority to legislate in most of
those areas to begin with. I defy anyone to read the text of the
U.S. Constitution and find any authority granted to the
members of Congress to regulate health care.

This legislation also provides for access by the appointees of
the Obama administration of all of your personal healthcare
information, your personal financial information, and the
information of your employer, physician, and hospital. All of
this is a direct violation of the specific provisions of the 4th
Amendment to the Constitution protecting against
unreasonable searches and seizures. You can also forget about
the right to privacy. That will have been legislated into
oblivion regardless of what the 3rd and 4th Amendments may
provide.

If you decide not to have healthcare insurance or if you have
private insurance that is not deemed "acceptable" to the
"Health Choices Administrator" appointed by Obama there
will be a tax imposed on you. It is called a "tax" instead of a
fine because of the intent to avoid application of the due
process clause of the 5th Amendment.

However, that doesn't work because since there is nothing in
the law that allows you to contest or appeal the imposition of
the tax, it is definitely depriving someone of property without
the "due process of law".

So, there are three of those pesky amendments that the far left
hate so much out the original ten in the Bill of Rights that are
effectively nullified by this law. It doesn't stop there though.
The 9th Amendment that provides: "The enumeration in the
Constitution, of certain rights, shall not be construed to deny
or disparage others retained by the people;" The 10th
Amendment states: "The powers not delegated to the United
States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the States,
are preserved to the States respectively, or to the people."
Under the provisions of this piece of Congressional
handiwork neither the people nor the states are going to
have any rights or powers at all in many areas that once were
theirs to control.

I could write many more pages about this legislation, but I
think you get the idea. This is not about health care; it is about
seizing power and limiting rights. Article 6 of the Constitution
requires the members of both houses of Congress to "be
bound by oath or affirmation" to support the Constitution. If I
was a member of Congress I would not be able to vote for
this legislation or anything like it without feeling I was
violating that sacred oath or affirmation. If I voted for it
anyway I would hope the American people would hold me
accountable.

Movie Editorial on "Back to the  Future"

Philippians 3:13-14


To the Brothers and Sisters who are faithful in Christ
Jesus:


Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord
Jesus  Christ.


In summary of the movie, Doc Brown built a time machine.
Later, he  was shot dead by the Libyan terrorists in the
beginning of the movie. While  he was killed, Doc Brown
saved Marty's life analogously the same way that  Jesus
had died on the cross to save our lives! In some sense,
Doc Brown  was shown as a type of Jesus Christ by saving
Marty McFly's life. Shocked by  Doc Brown's death, Marty
forced himself to use the time machine to escape  death
from the Libyan terrorists. Finally, Marty McFly went
back to 1955  and fixed his parents, who were thought to
be beyond repair through many  accidents during the
course of the story. To make the story more  interesting,
Marty McFly was able to save Doc Brown's life as well
even  though Marty tried and failed to use the time
machine 10 minutes before Doc  Brown was supposed to be
killed by the terrorists. In some humorous and  ludicrous
good sense, Doc Brown was resurrected from the dead
analogously the same way Jesus was resurrected from
his death on the  cross. Ha ha ha… I loved this movie!


Many young believers struggled with the horrible hurts
that our  non-Christian parents were beyond repair. When
we saw the movie "Back to the  Future," every believer
could really relate to the main character to Marty  McFly
while Doc Brown was shown as a type of Christ in the
movie. Many  young Christians always counted on our God
to fix our parents while Marty  McFly was getting plenty
of help from Doc Brown in terms of fixing his  parents
George and Lorraine McFly. It seemed so hurtful to see
Doc Brown  putting more effort to fix Marty McFly's
parents when we didn't see our God  putting any effort
to fix our non-Christian parents. Nevertheless, God
always had a better way to fix our dysfunctional
parents, who were  beyond repair or fix.


Maybe, I asked myself my question to God, "Lord, why
couldn't you  build me a time machine to fix my parents
in the past? Why couldn't you  change the Korean War in
a way so that my parents could love and accept you  as
their personal Lord and Savior?"


Sinful man believed that if we built a time machine,
then we could  change the course of history and fix all
of our mistakes or the mistakes of  our parents. However,
was it contrary to Philippians 3:13-14? Should we go
forward into the future rather than go back to the past?
If you did not  notice, the title of movie was written
in wrong English. If you say, "Let's  go back to the
future," then it really did not make any sense when we
could only go back into the past, not the future. The
correct grammar of  the movie title should be, "Go
Forward into the Future." In other words, we  must not
go back into the past, according to Philippians 3:13-14.


… but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and
reaching  forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward
the goal for the prize of the  upward call of God in
Christ Jesus. Philippians 3:13-14


Of course, sinful man probably insisted the impossible
contrary to  Philippians 3:13-14. He perhaps had some false
hopes that he could change  history for the better. If you
saw the movies, "Back to the Future - Parts 2  and 3,"
then you could see that sinful Marty McFly and Doc Brown
almost  made things a lot worse by changing the course of
history. Anyway, maybe, it  was possible to change the past.
However, it was also possible that changing  history could
be disastrous in terms of destroying the space-time
continuum! Seriously! For example, what if I built a time
machine, went  back into the past, and killed the inventor
of the time travel before he had  built the time machine?
If the question was too confusing, then Parts 2 and  3
could explain what I was trying to say. Anyway, I believed
Steven  Spielberg could explain it a lot better.

Work Hard - "Reflection on James 2:17"
"Protestant Rebuttal against the  Catholic Argument"

I am trying to write this reflection on James 2:17 as if
Apostle  Paul is trying to write the book of James within
the context of Romans and  Ephesians. Many Catholics may
not agree on how I write this reflection on  James 2:17.
It is possible that many Protestants may not agree as well.
In my view, this reflection cannot be written within a few
pages. It is  only an outline for a possible Ph.D. thesis
in a Reformed Theological  Seminary from a Presbyterian
Church denomination.


Prayer without action is a dead prayer. (James 2:17) In
my view, I  do not believe that James 2:17 is saying, "If
you have faith without works,  then you will burn in hell
forever." I believe that James 2:17 is referring  to the
common grace of God (Matthew 5:45), not the special grace
of God  (Ephesians 2:8-9). I do not believe that James 2:17
is preaching against the  "no-Lordship heresy." I believe
that Ephesians 2:10 is the correct verse  preaching against
the "no-Lordship heresy," not James 2:17. Other verses
preaching against the "no-Lordship heresy" can be found
in Galatians  5:6, 2 Thessalonians 1:11, 1 Thessalonians
1:3, and Philippians 2:17. I  believe that the book of
James is a book on common sense and how God answers  prayers.


If you pray to God that He will feed the poor while you
don't pick  up the plate yourself by doing homeless
ministry at your local church, of  course, then the poor
will not be fed. If you pray that God send  missionaries
to China and Africa, and yet you do not go to China or
Africa for missions, of course, nobody will go to China
or Africa for  missions. I know a pastor’s wife, who
said, "I am not called to do missions  outside of Korea
or the United States. I will just pray." My fellow
brothers and sisters in Christ! It is the same thing
as if I said, "I am  not called to marry an average
looking Korean Christian wife!" Let's not be  so
stupid!


I know many of you are praying for a good job. I am
sorry to say  this. Many of my non-Christian peers will
tell all of you that all of you  guys are lazy. You
depend on prayer without action. If you want a good
job, then work hard. (2 Thessalonians 3:10)


Do you really think I got the job at Samsung without
any serious  effort? Do you believe that God bless me
with a job at Samsung by praying  and reading the Bible
every day? No! Of course not! I put a lot of effort in
what I do! This is the truth. (John 8:32)


At the same time, I know many of you do work hard and
put a lot of  effort, and yet God did not bless you with
a good job. I understand the  enormity of this
disappointment. It must be unbearable to put so much
effort with little result. I do understand completely.
When I was a  graduate student in the electrical
engineering department at the University  of Southern
California, I study for about 70 to 80 hours a week in
my  first semester. Sometimes, I bring a sleeping bag
in the computer lab so  that I can simulate 16 bit adder
on MAGIC, HSPICE, and other crazy  electrical engineering
software programs on the UNIX terminal of a SUN
workstation at 4 A.M. in the morning. Working really
hard, I was  drinking 5 to 7 cups of coffee at that
night. Despite my effort, I receive a  B, B-, and C-
in all of my electrical engineering courses, go home,
and  cry to tears to our God. I really feel like a
complete failure. I may have  blamed my professors,
who do not take the time to help me, whenever I have
a question about our homework and textbook reading
materials. I never  blame our God for my failures. It
seems at that point God is unfair to me.  After I have
taken a break from school for one semester, I have
went  back to school and gotten straight A's in my
engineering courses for the  next 3 semesters around
40 to 50 hours per week effort. Ironically, my  grades
have gone up with less effort. I have somehow raised
my 2.5 GPA  to a 3.3 at the end of graduate school
career at USC. Thus, I receive my  Master's degree at
the University of Southern California's electrical
engineering department. Is God fair at the end? Yes,
of course.


Work hard and do pray for your success. (Philippians
3:13-14) There  are no problems asking God for help.
(Matthew 15:25, Mark 9:22-24, Acts  26:22) If you have
time for morning prayer from 5 to 7 A.M., then I will
promise you. God will not bless you with a good job.
I am sorry to tell  all of you. (Proverbs 27:5, John
8:32) Your effort by working hard is far  more effective
than 14 hours a week prayer in terms of getting a good
job. Go to early morning prayer for repentance. Do not
go so that God  can bless you with a good job. If your
pastors do not have the guts to tell  you, then they
are not doing their job. They are a friend of the
world.  (James 4:4)


Don't be slow. If you are as slow as ex-Bible study
leader, then  you will not survive working in a factory
at the Samsung Company. (Luke  24:25) My ex-Bible study
leader is extremely slow, and he does not learn  from
his mistakes quickly. Whenever a factory worker makes
a mistake, he  learns within minutes. My ex-Bible study
leader has finally learned from his  mistakes after 5
to 6 months. HR at the Samsung Company may not want
to  look at his resume if he is this slow.


Do not lose heart and do not give up. Nothing comes
easy in this  world. (1 Corinthians 10:13)

We always hear talk about God. However, we rarely hear
talk about  Satan. God is Almighty and Powerful, and we
should fear God with reverence.  (Psalms 22:23)
Nevertheless, does it make more sense to fear Satan? We
can hear some analogies between Satan from the Bible and
Skynet in the  movies like Terminator. Whenever we watch
the Terminator movies, Skynet can  remind us of Satan.


It [Skynet/Terminator] can't be bargained with. It can't
be  reasoned with. It doesn't feel pity, or remorse, or fear.
And it  absolutely will not stop, ever, until you are dead!

Satan is far more powerful and evil compared to sinful
man. He is  also a real being with a "free will," and
he does exist when he was a  beautiful angel. (2 Corinthians
11:14, Isaiah 14:12-14) We may not have the  strength to go
after Satan since Satan is far faster, smarter, and deadlier.
(2 Timothy 2:26) Satan shows no remorse, no sorrow, and no
pity and  sheds no tears by going after our families,
friends, and enemies. When we  watch Terminator movies,
it can always frighten us how Skynet and Satan have  a lot
in common. However, Skynet is not real and is a fictional
machine  without a "free will." Skynet is faster and
deadlier compared to the  resistance fighters in the Terminator
movies. Nonetheless, Skynet is a joke  compared to Satan. Satan
has a "free will" with full of terror and evil.  When Satan
has a "free will," he enjoys, laughs, smiles, and gets
thrills hurting the elect and non-elect alike. On the other
hand, Skynet  does not have a "free will" in this sense.
Skynet is a machine, and it does  not enjoy, laugh, smile or
get thrills eliminating the resistance members.  Nevertheless,
Satan does want us all dead like Skynet in the Terminator
movies.

I have submitted two patent applications this year
successfully. However, it is a long way to go before
my patents pass through the application patents
to be issued. I am the first author for both patent
applications.


I want to thank you for your prayers. Also, I want to
thank our God for His help.

problems after he had his heart attack on  September 1, 2001.

4. Please pray for my success at Samsung by  publishing
more papers and patents. Please pray for my health by  losing
more weight and by exercising 4 times per week.

5. Please pray  that I will tame my foolish tongue in terms of
arguing with my father,  mother, and younger brother related to
the Bible, church, God, finances, and  other issues of  pride.

Former Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice helped President George H.W. Bush and
Texas A&M University celebrate the 20th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin
Wall with a speech Monday at the Annenberg Presidential Conference Center.

Rice used her words to reflect on the importance of the pivotal year of 1989 and
the world events culminating with the fall of the Berlin Wall on Nov. 9, 1989.

"It's a time for celebration because it did mark the end of communism in Europe,
and it did mark the freedom for so many people," Rice said. "It's a time for
commemoration, to commemorate the sacrifices of those who did not live to see
[the fall of the Wall]. And perhaps most of all, it's a time for reflection."

Rice's speech was part of a daylong celebration for the 20th anniversary of the
fall of the Berlin Wall and was presented by the Scowcroft Institute of
International Affairs.
"Our goal at Scowcroft is to bring the world to Aggieland and to bring Aggieland
to the world," said Jeffrey Engel, associate director of programming for the
Scowcroft Institute.

The daylong celebration allowed A&M a glimpse at the importance of the event and
its impact on the global stage.

"The Cold War ended. The Berlin Wall fell. The Iron Curtain was no more," Engel
said.

Bush was an integral part of the diplomacy involved in bringing an end to the
Soviet Union and bringing freedom to people of Europe. During this time in world
history, Bush worked alongside Soviet Union Head of State Mikhail Gorbachev and
Chancellor of Germany Helmut Kohl.
"The president of the United States was able to give strength to those two men
so they could do what they needed to do, and together, the three of them were
able to use their talents and use their abilities for the good of humankind,"
Rice said.

Bush, though, was quick to show his appreciation for the role of Rice in
international affairs and politics.

"She's strong; she's represented our nation with such class and distinction,"
Bush said. "Good government requires men and women of exceptional talent and
vision to make it work. In Condi, we have someone who understands the complex
and compelling challenges that face our world today like very few can."

Although Rice is a Soviet specialist, she did not anticipate playing a role in
the end of the Cold War that plagued international affairs for so much of the
20th century.

"I never dreamed I would be the Soviet specialist in the White House at the end
of the Cold War, because I never dreamed there was going to be an end to the
Cold War," Rice said. "If you really do talk to people honestly, no one really
thought there was going to be an end to the Cold War."

Although there were many times of trouble throughout the history of the Cold
War, Rice said the moments were working toward a central goal that, although not
evident at the time, became a success.

"Today's headlines and history's judgment are not the same," Rice said.

Of all the pieces of the puzzle that came together at the fall of the Berlin
Wall, one of the most central aspects was the ideal of freedom. It was this
ideal that citizens and leaders alike worked toward, Rice said.

"We believe in the proposition that every man, woman and child ought to live in
freedom. We believe that human beings reach their full potential when they can
enjoy the fruits of their labor," Rice said. "This view of human history, our
view of human history, triumphed. It triumphed because it continued to live in
the hearts and minds of people."

Although many current Aggie students were too young or not yet alive at the time
of the fall of the Berlin Wall, it was an event that impacted the world as
America works to promote the ideals of freedom and democracy, Rice said.

"What today's commemoration really reminds us is that when the United States of
America really sets its mind to something, even if it takes 40 years, we'll find
a way to get it done, because we are, more than anything, more than anybody in
the world, an optimistic people," Rice said. "We're an optimistic people, not
because we see the world through rose-colored glasses, but because so many times
we have been a part of historical circumstances and what seemed impossible one
day, just seemed improbable the next."

Today's headlines and history's judgments rarely are the same, former Secretary
of State Condoleezza Rice said to a standing room-only crowd on the Texas A&M
campus Monday evening.
 
That's what she told herself when things got tough in the White House, and, she
admitted to laughter, "because I didn't like today's headlines."
 
Rice spoke for less than an hour during a daylong commemoration of the 20-year
anniversary of the Berlin Wall's fall and the unification of Germany.
 
No one believed that the Berlin Wall would come down without a shot fired, she
told the several hundred people gathered at the George Bush Presidential
Library.
 
If you had said otherwise when the Cold War raged, "they would have had you
committed," Rice said. "History plays a trick on us."
She added: "What seems impossible, after the fact sometimes seems inevitable."
 
Rice -- who served as the nation's chief diplomat from January 2005 to 2009
under former President George W. Bush -- is the first black woman to hold that
position.
 
As national security adviser from January 2001 to 2005 and head of the national
security council, Rice played a significant role in decisions about the Iraq and
Afghanistan wars.
 
Rice singled out three world leaders for praise in the aftermath of the wall's
fall on Nov. 9, 1989: Soviet Premier Mikhail Gorbachev, German Chancellor Helmut
Kohl and the man sitting in front of her, President George H. W. Bush.
 
Gorbachev chose not to use the Soviet Union's might to try to "reverse history."
Kohl "knew how to seize the moment." And Bush understood that gaining rapport
was key.
 
"Gorbachev could trust George H. W. Bush not to humiliate him, not to take
advantage of him, and to ease [the Soviet Union's] decline," Rice said. "That's
the most extraordinary diplomatic feat of the century."
 
Rice is a senior public policy fellow at the Hoover Institution and a professor
of political science at Stanford University.
 
She joined the Stanford faculty in 1981 as an assistant professor of political
science, and served as the school's provost, the top academic official, from
1993 to 1999.
 
Rice has authored or co-authored several books, including Germany Unified and
Europe Transformed: A Study in Statecraft and The Gorbachev Era.
 
She served as an adviser to the Joint Chiefs of Staff in 1987 and, two years
later, was appointed director of Soviet and East European Affairs on the
National Security Council.
 
Her talk zeroed in on German unification, but during the question-and-answer
session, some audience members asked her about current world hotspots.
 
She advocated a "sunshine policy" toward North Korea, essentially opening up the
country to outside influence whenever possible. She said her administration had
discussed having the totalitarian country's women's soccer team visit the U.S.
 
"Something has to start to open that place up a bit so that when it collapses,
and it will, it won't be so violent," she said.
 
She said Islam is struggling with "two visions" -- one is the democratic kind in
Turkey; the other is the extremist version lacking in tolerance.
 
"If that other vision wins out, then we're going to struggle for decades and
decades and decades with terrorism," she said.
 
On Sunday, in St. Louis Park, Minn., about 125 protesters greeted her with signs
that read, "Torture isn't kosher" and "Would Jesus waterboard?" according to
local press accounts. Since she left office 10 months ago, critics have
unsuccessfully pressured her to acknowledge that the Bush-era practice of
waterboarding -- pouring water over a detainee's head to create the sensation of
drowning -- is torture.
 
In Aggieland, the 54-year-old was greeted with a standing ovation.
 
Rice spoke as part of the Lenore and Francis Humphrys International Speakers
Program, which brings world leaders and renowned international affairs scholars
to Texas A&M.

Condoleezza Rice spoke at a synagogue in St. Louis Park Sunday, addressing
issues related to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, terrorism and the spread of
democracy in the Middle East.
 
Rice’s visit is part of Beth El Synagogue’s national speaker series, which
has included the likes of Dan Rather, Colin Powell and former President Bill
Clinton, and acts as an important fundraiser for the community.
 
“The only reason that we are able to fight for our freedoms is because there
are those on the frontlines of freedom …” Rice said in her speech.
“Especially those men and women in uniform on the frontlines of freedom in
places like Bosnia and Baghdad …”
 
In her speech, Rice said Israel is an important ally for the United States in
the Middle East. She also focused on eliminating terrorism in the region and
spreading democracy.
 
“Every day, terrorists plotted and they planned,” Rice said. “We had to
recognize that they had to be right only once, and we had to be right 100
percent of the time and that was an unfair fight.”
 
During the question and answer segment that followed Rice’s speech, she
answered queries relating to the United States’ stance on the Iranian nuclear
weapons program, Chinese-U.S. relations and the importance of education, among
other topics.

maybe one day. Condi  should be invited to take her pick of the job
she wants to run for and do.

The way those protestors  were going on you'd think Condi was lecturing on
water-boarding. Not so.
Condi was the one who put a stop to water-boarding so have some respect please.

Some interesting thoughts on the attached article from members of *The

One comment bothers me, and it's from General George Casey, the Army Chief
of Staff:

You know, I find it disturbing that civilian patriots have more sense, more
courage of conviction, and a more highly refined common sense approach to
the defense of the defenseless than the officers tasked with oversight of
same.  It is a sad commentary on today's military command.  WTH!!

   Every soldier interviewed said that they knew something was wrong but were
afraid of speaking up because of the Armed Forces policy of diversity.
They all said that it would go in their file and they would have been
reprimanded.

When is this country going to realize that there is absolutely NO
difference between a "Home-Grown" terrorist and a terrorist?
When is the world going to realize that you cannot fight an ideology
by acquiescing to the demands and laws of that ideology?

When is the world going to recognize that Islamism (there is a
difference between Islamism and Islam) is a parasitic, religiously-
backed governmental system that has shown throughout history that it
does nothing to improve the lives of the people it governs and
oppresses all those who serve under it?
