On the Oceechobee water way, the hight restriction is 49' 3" The way we get boats measured and under it is to use a peice of PVC 5' long, place a loop in the middle for the halyard to attach to. Tie 50' of string to either end. Hold one end as you hoist so the PVC stays upright, raise it till it just clears everything up top, wieght the other string and set it over the side, mark it where the water level is. Take it all down, lay it out and measure it from the PVC tip to the mark on the string, you have your exact hight.

With that close of clearance, I'd hoist a 100' tape to the top with the main halyard, add what you think is left to clear, and then measure the bottom of the mast to the waterline. Then you'll know for sure.
Looks like you need a minus tide to clear safely. Good luck!

The "I" measurement for the sloop is 43'. "I" is measured from the main deck, not the cabin top. I figure 5" from waterline to maindeck and the anchor light stands about 1' above the masthead. That figures 49' bridge clearance.
However I hope someone can verify this because I have a bridge nearby on the ICW with 48' clearance MHHW. Our tidal range is 3' so I would like to confirm if I can pass under on an extreme low spring tide.

Mast only hight on Cimba is 48' off the water, excluding anything on top.

Ketch or sloop? My ketch Main mast is right at 40' from deck. Add 2' for windex at top, and I'd use 9' deck to waterline to be safe, although its more like about 7'. Sloop has longer mast.

My registration shows 1977 as first date sold.
I'll try and find that sheet I have listing the JPA and JPB s/n's and dates of mfgr----- It's around here somewhere!

There is a molded "pan" under the shower floor. Mine has a seperate bilge pump and switch on panel to drain it.

Rick,
I have two things in my favor, first I am only around 200 lbs and I modified my
aft cabin by taking out the bulkhead and reinforced it on the top and sides to
carry and transfer the loads. I turned that back area into a berth with storage
below allowing excellent access to the rudder post area. One big problem I have
is that my boat is in the water and if I remove the rubber hose I have to be
prepared to solve the problem immediately or run a bilge pump at high speed!!!
I would like to configure some kind of grease zirk system (like on the
suspension of a car) that I can pump full of grease every once in a while to
keep the bearings packed. I have a system like that on the prop shaft that
works really well.
Good Luck.
-jimbo.

I have a chart somewhere (I can't find right now) showing the hull # and dates built. It went only to "73. The later dates were probably the date first sold. Remember these hulls were laid up in Taiwan and shipped to Chris Craft in Florida for outfitting and comissioning at a later date.

(1) what is the height in the main cabin area, from the bottom of the ladder to the ceiling? My husband is 6'2" and would like to be able to stand. (2) what is the length of the aft cabin berths? (3) do you know if the hull is solid fiber glass? I think it is, but I'm not certain. Thanks! Melanie

Melanie,
The main salon headroom is 6’3’, the aft cabin bunks are 6’5” and the hull is a very solid fiberglass, these boats are very strong and sea kindly, I am bound for Thailand from California and feel very confident in my vessel. Good luck.
The spec's that I have say that the forward cabin head room is 6'- 3.5"
The aft cabin hight is 6'- 2.25
My aft cabin berth cushions measure 6'- 5"
The hull is defenitly solid reinforced fiberglass and the white is impregnated through and through.
The hull thickness is 3/4 "
I'm not sure which boat you have mine is a 1968 CC sailing yacht

Thanks for your reply. I have three specific questions: (1) what is the height in the main cabin area, from the bottom of the ladder to the ceiling? My husband is 6'2" and would like to be able to stand. (2) what is the length of the aft cabin berths? (3) do you know if the hull is solid fiber glass? I think it is, but I'm not certain.
We are in Nashville, TN; the boat is in Louisiana. Thanks! Melanie
I'm not the guy that you responded to, but I do own a 1968 35ft CC sailing yacht, you say that you have a motorsailer I'm not sure what model that ,that is.
Is your boat a center cockpit ?? What year is it ??

HI,
I HAVE A CC 35 MOTORSAILOR, WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO KNOW AND WHAT IS YOUR LOCATION?
I think they do use the same hull. I wonder if you could answer the following
questions...at least for your boat. (1) what is the height
in the main cabin area, from the bottom of the ladder to the ceiling? My
husband is 6'2" and would like to be able to stand. (2) what is the length of
the aft cabin berths? (3) do you know if the hull is solid fiber glass? I
think it is, but I'm not certain.
Thanks!
Melanie

I didn't know CC was still making sailboats as late as 1975.
I recently purchased a 1968 CC sailing yacht , which is a Sparkman & Stevens design, she is 35' & I'm under the impression that the sailing yacht & the Caribbean both 35' used the same hull.
This is one very nice sail, I have had mine in 8 ft seas with no problem at all.
Once again I thought CC stoped making sailboats in the early 70's.
I don't know what the asking $ is for the boat that your looking at, I paid $ 15,000 for mine, when the asking $ was 27,000 and my boat is in fantastic condition.
Good luck

I'm thinking of purchasing a 1975 Chris Craft Caribbean 35. I'd love to hear from anyone with experience with this boat. What do you think of it? Pros/cons. Thanks Melanie
