Description

The Chicago FTM Group is an all inclusive group for those people assigned female at birth, but who identify on the male side of the spectrum. SOFFAs are an integral part of our community and are welcome in this group. This is an Alliance of people who are committed to forming a support network in the Chicagoland area and to make sure everyone can find the services they need! Please refer to the links and files area for resources that you can tap and/or contribute to yourself.

We are affiliated with GenderWork, Chicago's social, support, and activist group for female-assigned, masculine-identified individuals. Whether you are pre-op, post-op, non-op, on T or not, we welcome you. This includes but is not limited to FTMs, transgendered men, transsexual men, transmen, intersex transmen, genderqueer folks, butches, transitioned men, transguys, bois, drag kings, bi/poly/pan/omni gendered, stone butches, trannyfags, two spirit, tomboys, femme tg bois, non-gendered, as well as their SOFFAs...wherever you are on the gender spectrum or in your journey of transition (or non transition), or if you are just questioning, please join us!

GenderWork meets on the first and third Sundays** of every month from 7-8:30pm in the office of Laura L. Grimes, LCSW. Her office is in the Bridgeview Bank Building, 4753 N. Broadway St., Suite 608, Chicago, IL 60640. The group is peer facilitated with a new topic each meeting, however we do allow time for any other trans-related issues folks want to discuss. For more information visit the website at http://genderworkchicago.org or e-mail Nick at info[at]genderworkchicago[dot]org or call 773-659-9207. **GenderWork has two types of meetings, "open" and "closed". The first Sunday of the month is a "closed" meeting for FTM-identified/questioning only while the third Sunday of the month is an "open" meeting that SOFFAs may attend.
