It is the aim of CHI-SA to:

• encourage an interest in the activities of the South Africa ACM SIGCHI Chapter;
• create an awareness of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) and usability issues with developers, educators, users and consumers, and the South African IT industry;
• strengthen ties between HCI experts in other countries and South Africa;
• stimulate an awareness of South Africa's special needs and problems with regard to HCI;
• encourage participation by local and foreign industry experts in HCI-oriented activities.
