We are a group of individuals from various walks of life - students/professionals/parents/the common man - residing in Chennai, and who are concerned about the policy of reservations that has become a subject of great controversy in India.

We oppose the reservations ideologically for various reasons. An important reason is that it promotes casteism, and threatens to fracture the nation further on caste lines. This is the single largest danger that lurks behind reservations, and hence, reservations must be opposed with all our might. Therefore, this group is open for all who are concerned about the nation's future, and are willing to work for it through fair and just means. We do not see reservations as one such way to bring about the right kind of development, and hence, we oppose any further increase in reservations, as it can only backfire.

This group aims to bring all people in Chennai together, irrespective of his/her background. Hence, the name of this group is Chennai United.
