Promoting Community Spirit While Reducing Wasted Items

Chelsea Recycle promotes recycling, regiving, reusing and reducing waste. Our group encompasses Chelsea, Michigan and the surrounding towns and villages in Western Washtenaw County such as Dexter, Manchester, Grass Lake, Waterloo, Munith, Stockbridge, and Pinckney.

The basic idea is to get local residents in touch with one another so that instead of throwing something useful away, you give it to someone who can use it. Members are able to reduce the amount of clutter in their lives while also reaching out within their own community.

Note: Our group was founded in April 2004 as part of The Freecycle Network. Today, we are an independent group run by volunteers who live in the Chelsea area, and are no longer affiliated with TFN. We give our time to promote community spirit and reducing the amount of waste going to our overflowing landfills.
