Hello All -

 

A week ago - June 18 Saturday, we spent the whole day with a group of about 200 youths coming from different places, engaged in competitions, and praising the Lord thru music, dance and games. The event is the pre-con to the national YFL youth conference on July 29 - 31, 2011 in Texas.  The pre-con is a one day event full of youthfull activities. For a parent coordinator, it is likened to preparing for your daughter's grand sweet 16 celebration, only much bigger scale, because the coordination you have to do involves groups of other people. With that said -  I would like to thank the following for making the event a success. Withouth these individuals' unselfish giving and sharing of their time, talent and even their money, the event will not be possible:

 

Registration group: Sisters: Tess C, Jocelyn, Beibe, Gladys and Brothers:Brods Edwin,  Bob, Floro, Alex. I know that Sis Tess/Brod Bob spent some sleepless nites just to have an updated list of participants & printing the names of participants, Sis Jocelyn/Brod Floro went to visit the venue just to make sure that there will be no surprises on the day of pre-con; Sis Beibe/Brod Edwin even have to take day offs just to attend meetings and updates of the event; Sis Gladys/Brod Alex on the most valuable assistance on the day of pre-con; BTW guys, you produced very nice, professional IDs.

 

Security: Long Island Brothers headed by Brod Ernie who guided vehicle & human traffic; provided the event's water supply and ice; happily performed all sorts of errands that came up. Hoping to serve with you more on other occasions brothers. Also, Brod Ernie's negotiations with Molloy College insurance requirements.

 

Food: How can we miss this part? I think CFC FFL New York is the best fed community in the whole United States! Tita Joy/Brod Jerry with their delicious cooking and of course - Brod Henry/Sis Tess' b-b-q. Sleepless nites cooking and preparing to feed these youngsters - lot's of effort and love goes with their recipes. Also, the assistance of Brod Ning, Sis Imee, Sis Emma B, sis Rory, sis Ding, Sis Dolly & handmaids, setting up for breakfast and packing the food in containers. We love you guys. And of course - McDonalds for snack/dinner!!

 

T-Shirt Sale: Brod Jerry, thank you for taking charge of having the t-shirts printed and bought; sis Ding, thank you for bringing them to the venue; Sis Irene & Brod Marc and company- thank you for taking on the stressful job of inventory and sale of the shirts the whole day-God bless your upcoming baby. It can be tiring to be assisting our youths especially if your are less than 2-months on the way but yet you found time to serve. Thank you both for your efforts.
