Blue Grosbeak & Burrowing Owls - Tehama & Colusa Cos.   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #11991 of 12396 |
This morning the male BLUE GROSBEAK was still singing just south of
the first bridge on Long Hollow Rd. west of Corning in Tehama Co. I
also saw the BURROWING OWLS on Corning Rd. about 1.8 miles west of
Glenn Rd., also in Tehama Co. There were at least 10 owls at this
spot. 2 adults were in trees, 6 juveniles were together at what looked
like the mouth of the burrow, and later, 3 more heads were visible
over the crest of the hill, although now, one of the adults had been
chased out of its tree by a kingbird.

I also found 1 adult BURROWING OWL in Bear Valley in Colusa Co. It was
on a fence post along the road on the east-west jog north of the main
east-west jog.
