CALDERDALE CYCLING PROMOTION GROUP (CCPG)

Our purpose is to encourage cycling in Calderdale by working to ensure that the needs of cyclists are taken into account in the design and construction of all the road and off-road facilities that cyclists need.
* CCPG is now formally consulted by Calderdale Council on all on-road and off-road schems that may affect cycling
* Traffic calming, advance stop lines, cycle lanes and cycle lockers were almost non-existent in Calderdale at the time that CCPG was set up, but are at last being put in place - albeit not always to the design, coherence and continuity that they should be

We're conscious that this is only a start. Much more needs to be done, but CCPG members are all volunteers. We have no paid staff. Most of us have full-time jobs and family commitments that allow us only a limited amount of time to move things further forward.
For this reason, we have taken the decision to :-
1. Abolish all membership subscriptions
2. Discontinue our occasional (hard-copy) newsletters and meetings
3. Instead conduct our affairs mainly by 'phone / email / informal meetings as and when anyone wants to get together with others to discuss a particular issue.
