Welcome to the Catholic Spitfire Grill The Spitfire Grill is for those at any stage on journey towards the Roman Catholic Church (and that includes those who are sure that their journey will never lead them to Rome but just want to know what Catholics believe and why), those who are already Catholic and would like to learn and defend their faith more thoroughly and those who are committed to helping all of the previously mentioned. We recognize that conversion is primarily the work of the Holy Spirit and not of human origin; therefore, we who are already Roman Catholic must accept with humility and charity that the work in others may not always take the form we in our human imperfections might desire. The decision to "swim the Tiber" is one that happens quickly for some and slowly for others. For some it involves overcoming years of prejudice and bias and there are difficult and uncomfortable questions to ask and have answered. We are committed to making this a safe place to ask questions, to discuss freely, to offer support, and most of all to pray for each other. While we may enourage you to "jump in" we'll try very hard never to push. (And LAUGH!! This is FUN!!) Please note: To protect our membership, all new members are placed on moderated status until we are convinced that you are not joining us for reasons other than our stated purpose for existing. Furthermore, at the sole discretion of the moderating team, we may choose to moderate the posts of any member.
