Restoration Work at Carter Caves SRP

Site for those of you who are wanting to commit to the group effort of restoring the caves of Carter Caves State Resort Park in Carter County, Kentucky. This is a newer restoration camp that meets in the spring annually at Carter Caves to commit a weekend to various projects that will help to put the caves of Carter Caves back into a more natural appeal and conserve the valuable resources held within the catacombs of the park.
Lodging accomodations for the event include 2 bunkhouses made available to participants on Friday and Saturday Nights. Each Bunkhouse can accomodate 12 participants. Also the campground is made available to participants also.
Signup for Restoration Camp is restricted in minor ways (go to http://www.essogrotto.com for more information), and signup for a bunk is limited to the first 24 who request space. Signup for Camp and Bunk Space started Feb 1st 2008. Participants are required to pre-register for this event due to the requirements set forth by the State of Kentucky.
We look forward to seeing you at this event worthy of your participation. Come down Friday night and visit around a campfire, work a day underground Saturday. Enjoy a cookout that night hosted by the park. And Enjoy a 1/2 day underground Sunday finishing projects and enjoying the other features of the park following.
