CarderockNet is an electronic mail network, sponsored by the PTA of Carderock Springs Elementary School (CSES). You must have a child attending CSES, or be a faculty or staff member of CSES, in order to use CarderockNet. Students may not use Carderocknet.

The purpose of this network is to exchange information related to PTA business, school affairs, and educational topics. Information should be pertinent to everyone in the school community, or to a general segment of it, such as all second graders, all students in student government, etc.

It shall not be used as a forum for discussing specific students, parents, teachers, or staff members. Personal attacks, hostile remarks, and foul language (including words which have been manually "censored" using characters like #@&*!) are not appropriate when using CarderockNet. In addition, PTA bylaws require that messages not directly or indirectly relate to any political campaign on behalf of, or in opposition to, any candidate for public office.

Examples of content appropriate to post on CarderockNet include:

Announcements and reminders of meetings and school events.
Meeting agendas and minutes.
Requests for volunteers.
Emergency closing announcements and follow-up.
Educational topics covering a wide range of areas.

Any email address that is subscribed can send messages to CarderockNet. To do so, from the subscribed email address, send an email message to CarderockNet@yahoogroups.com.

When using CarderockNet...

* "Sign" your full name to each post by typing it at either the top or bottom of the message.
* Include a clear and specific subject line. Label official PTA announcements as such.
* Do not send attachments with messages to the list.
* Do not provoke, insult, rage or USE ALL CAPS (equivalent to shouting).
