The total number of registered voters in the Comelec computer-generated report is 55,205.

But this surnames tabulation of mine was all manually counted from the list (I don't understand what ever makes me suffer through these things). As such the result can be a little inaccurate, if I may be excused a little, especially since I was rushing to meet my self-imposed deadline, and thus some surnames which should be here I may have missed.

Please take note that this is just the number of voters in the voters list carrying the particular surname. Besides, the frequency of the surnames does not mean that is the entirety of the family, because intermarriages between Carcar families have blurred the family lines.

I have noticed too many surnames on the list carried by only one voter. A possible explanation for this is these individuals are not really from in Carcar and are just employed here or related and staying with Carcar relations. Or women married to non-Carcaranon spouses working abroad, or to foreigners themselves. I was just taken aback here because we would assume that surnames would be carried by entire families, or at least a married couple. Be that as it may, let's just hope this does not represent some electoral hanky-panky. The most puzzling result however, for those who know Carcar, was there was only one Bayot, too.

An ongoing daily tally is taking place here and names will come in, and others will be dislodged. Much like election canvassing. And as soon as I will proclaim the final tabulation, I shall immediately be open for protests. Again much like election canvassing. Anyway, new entries not in the previous tally are in boldface. We're targetting the top 100.

The total number of registered voters in the Comelec computer-generated report
is 55,205.

But this surnames tabulation of mine was all manually counted from the list (I
don't understand what ever makes me suffer through these things). As such the
result can be a little inaccurate, if I may be excused a little, especially
since I was rushing to meet my self-imposed deadline, and thus some surnames
which should be here I may have missed.

Please take note that this is just the number of voters in the voters list
carrying the particular surname. Besides, the frequency of the surnames does not
mean that is the entirety of the family, because intermarriages between Carcar
families have blurred the family lines.

I have noticed too many surnames on the list carried by only one voter. A
possible explanation for this is these individuals are not really from in Carcar
and are just employed here or related and staying with Carcar relations. Or
women married to non-Carcaranon spouses working abroad, or to foreigners
themselves. I was just taken aback here because we would assume that surnames
would be carried by entire families, or at least a married couple. Be that as
it may, let's just hope this does not represent some electoral hanky-panky. The
most puzzling result however, for those who know Carcar, was there was only one
Bayot, too.

An ongoing daily tally is taking place here and names will come in, and others
will be dislodged. Much like election canvassing. And as soon as I will proclaim
the final tabulation, I shall immediately be open for protests. Again much like
election canvassing. Anyway, new entries not in the previous tally are in
boldface. We're targetting the top 100.

attempted to start our family tree a few years ago, even getting up to our
parents (-branches) was already too laborious for me and I always assumed I had
tomorrow to work on it further. Sadly, that proved to be too late now. So I
promised my kids that our family tree and health history would be fully detailed
from my parents, and down to three generations.

Death certificates should indicate the (immediate-) cause of death. Most would probably say cardiopulmonary arrest (mao bitaw nga paktay, sa Insik pa) rather than the health history itself. Tracing it would be laborious kay di pa man computerized ang tanang medical records and some probably do not routinely seek medical care. The Health Dept should have some morbidity and mortality statistics, though.

Bitaw, is the emergency hospital sa Baraka considered the main health center sa Carcar? When I was there in 2007, the dispensary was used by policemen while off duty, I think. Previous to that, it was used by candle vendors as their place to sleep at night.

In one of my doc visits here recently, I was advised by one of the nurse case managers to trace back three generations of each side of my parents, and list out the causes of death and any other significant health information. Ritz,

we must be woefully short cardiovascular statistics in Carcar because most
people die at home and nobody calls for autopsies to determine the exact cause
of death. And of those who die in our town hospital, is there somebody making a
tally?

As far as we know beginning with my great-grandfather Pedro Aleonar, most in our
family died of the heart-hypertension-diabetes trio. We say our family is so
prone to one or a combination of the trio that we seem to contact it just by
looking at each other.

Speaking of Takoy, he was Eustaquio Abarquez, but although he achieved his
crowning glory in Carcar, he was a native of Talisay. That's why I could not
include him in my list of outstanding Carcaranon but did mention him along with
other non-natives in the wordpress site.

BREAKING NEWS: And then tonight (13-Nov-2009) was found the marriage record of Saturnina Alesna and Enrique Ybañez, which branch have been consigned to the bottom of this page, waiting for the day Saturnina can be linked to whichever Alesna branch she belongs to. Well, the marriage record for Enrique Ybañis [sic] with Saturnina Antonia was found as 21-Aug-1847. Saturnina was the daughter of, like the previous breaking news above, Luis Mariano and Ma. Agustina. Happily at the same time, this also links for my files Ybañez with his lineage as son of Doroteo Ybañez and Victoria Albarado [sic]. In my file, I am going to place Saturnina tentatively after Francisco Silvestre who, born 1818, would have been already 29 at that marriage date–pending discovery of dates for her and the siblings after here in this tree.

This makes my day.

I've steered this to another thread because we were all over on the Alesna
thread...all over except Alesna.

I'm trying to do all I can to get folks interested in making their family trees.
I thought maybe if another site that also profiles persons, houses, monuments
and the base family trees of some families would do it, so I made this site. It
was already waiting in the wings since last year, but I was waiting for our
yahoogroup to really fill up with files.

That is a personal blog while this is an ongoing forum and exchange of notes and
files of family tree makers.

Our carcarfamilies group have candidates, too. Galo's mother, Rosario, is 98, and Tes Villaluz-Heyrosa's grandmother, Catalina Vocal-Sato (her mother Nieves's mother) was buried two weeks ago at 96 if I'm not mistaken. Vilma Cong-Divinagracia's mother, Isabel, is 91 (Vilma just wrote me).

I should have remembered your mama right away, Ritz. Imagine she was my father's high school teacher. And how old is her 'Noy Benny Campañon (her brother-in-law and our groupmember Lies' daddy and Apple's grand-dad)?

And no carcarfamilies yahoogroup member in her family but Carcaranon Tentay Noel-Sandiego (Pilar's sister-in-law) will be 96 this December. Is she the oldest living Noel now?

BREAKING NEWS:

Just tonight a little before 9 pm (25-Sep-2009) I found the marriage record of the previously unlinked Victorio Alesna to Benedicta Aldaya.  Dated 20-Jul-1835, the entry identified Victorio Loverto's [sic] parents as Luis Mariano and Ma. Agustina.  So, the big branch of Victorio has now been linked.

The Invitation

By Oriah Mountain Dreamer

It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for, and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing.

It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool for love, for your dream, for the adventure of being alive.

It doesn't interest me what planets are squaring your moon. I want to know if you have touched the center of your own sorrow, if you have been opened by life's betrayals or have become shriveled and closed from fear of further pain!

I want to know if you can sit with pain, mine or your own, without moving to hide it or fade it, or fix it.

I want to know if you can be with joy, mine or your own, if you can dance with wildness and let the ecstasy fill you to the tips of your fingers and toes without cautioning us to be careful, to be realistic, to remember the limitations of being human.

It doesn't interest me if the story you are telling me is true. I want to know if you can disappoint another to be true to yourself; if you can bear the accusation of betrayal and not betray your own soul; if you can be faithless and therefore trustworthy.

I want to know if you can see beauty even when it's not pretty, every day,and if you can source your own life from its presence.

The Invitation by Oriah Mountain Dreamer, book cover

I want to know if you can live with failure, yours and mine, and still stand on the edge of the lake and shout to the silver of the full moon, “Yes!”

It doesn't interest me to know where you live or how much money you have. I want to know if you can get up, after the night of grief and despair, weary and bruised to the bone, and do what needs to be done to feed the children.

It doesn't interest me who you know or how you came to be here. I want to know if you will stand in the center of the fire with me and not shrink back.

It doesn't interest me where or what or with whom you have studied. I want to know what sustains you, from the inside, when all else falls away.

I want to know if you can be alone with yourself and if you truly like the company you keep in the empty moments.

Friends:

Time has come to surrender the bachelor life...

I will finally live the life for what God has enthralled for me. To Move forward and to receive the true blessings of marriage.  I am to wed my ally & best friend, this 26th of September 2009 at 10:00 a.m.

Any of those who oppose this union speak now... or forever be barred!

So my friend, you are cordially invited... to witness a simple event. Attached is our paperless invitation. If and when you can attend, just bring your plate, but please never worry about food.

Cordially,

Sherwin (Wowie) B. Madrio

I also got something like this supposedly from a friend. Luckily I had the good sense to call her that night and ask her.. It was a hoax/ scam and she was just at home, not in a foreign country. It turned out that someone hacked into her computer and contacted people in her contact list (including me) and asked for money to be sent to some account in a foreign country. I suspected something was wrong since Minda and I always talked on the phone and never by email. The scam artist also asked for a large sum of money which I luckily did not have.

Elbe Barcelo Alicaba-Cale's (CF Member No. 38) email was hacked. She thought she only had trouble opening her hotmail account. Then I got an email supposedly from her saying her wallet was stolen in London and she needed help. She even signed it with her nickname Elbe.

All the time, Elbe was just in Singapore and had never been to London, to visit the Queen or whatever. Maybe that's why she could no longer open her email because some hacker had already stolen it and changed the password (what is this thing called--phished ba?). We think that anyone who receives the same help! email supposedly from her who will respond, the hacker will instruct the person to deposit something to some account and, yes, it will go to the hacker.

Beware.

VIP,

We had the same experience with ELBE but fortunately we did not believed what the sender from Africa, he used the name and email add of one of our batchmate saying that his in Africa and had a problem with his passport and needs some help asking some amount but we trace the real KEN in our batch and he was in Carcar and we reject it.. its a spam. He keeps on sending message until maybe he is tired without any response from us so he stop.

Dear Veny,

If you want your family tree just a little more complete, try to fill in the complete dates. You need not submit these complete dates for living persons to carcarfamilies. And also, may I advise you on the Notes column, try to get the parents' names of the in-laws. I try to do this as completely in my own family trees because my purpose is that our next generations will be able to also trace the other family. Example: your grandchildren will be able to know your husband's parentage and have a clue where to search should they try to also trace the Villaflor family.

My motto in doing my trees is: I'm doing this, might as well make it as correct and as complete as possible.

Dear Allen,

This file was intended just show the extent of the family, In my files complete dates are there. I hope you'll include complete dates on yours, too. And on Veny's, too..

Anyway, Went over your file and noticed:

1) Anselma Alesna's birthyear was changed from 1896 to 1890. I got the 1896 date from the Baptism record (notice I even included who was her madrina).
And the Numeriano Alesna children all had birthyears given. Unless a family tree had already been done before this, I have a feeling the new birthyears were just calculations and readjustments, not based on actual. The parents were married 1892. If you are sure Jose was born 1893, then Jose might even have been the eldest.

There may be records I have not encoded yet but the dates for which I'm certain are Anselma (1896), Juan (1900), Susana (1902).

Anyway, I am still going over the records and someday we'll get the real score.

2) Both Teodoro and Mauro were nicknamed Dodong.
